SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING A NOTIFICATION OF A PRESENCE OF AN OCCUPANT IN A VEHICLE THROUGH HISTORICAL PATTERNS AND METHOD THEREOF
The systems and methods disclosed herein are directed to providing a notification of a presence of an occupant in a vehicle before arriving at a destination. In an illustrative embodiment, the vehicle may include a location system for tracking routes taken or traveled by the vehicle. The vehicle may include a detection system for determining whether the occupant is in the vehicle along those routes traveled by the vehicle. The vehicle may also include a notification system. The notification system may store the routes traveled by the vehicle with and without the occupant in the vehicle. The notification system may provide a notification when a route is taken with the occupant and the route is not associated with the occupant based on the historical patterns of the routes traveled by vehicle with and without the occupant.
PARKING DEVICE
A parking device mountable on a vehicle and capable of parking autonomously includes an autonomous-parking-command receiver, a vehicle-occupant detector, and a determination unit. The autonomous-parking-command receiver receives a parking command given by a user to park the vehicle. The vehicle-occupant detector detects whether a vehicle occupant is in the vehicle. The determination unit determines whether to permit the vehicle to park. In a case where the autonomous-parking-command receiver receives the parking command and the vehicle-occupant detector does not detect the vehicle occupant, the determination unit determines permits parking and allows the vehicle to park autonomously. In a case where the autonomous-parking-command receiver receives the parking command and the vehicle-occupant detector detects the vehicle occupant, the determination unit does not permit parking and forbids the vehicle to park autonomously by commanding the autonomous-parking-command receiver to cancel the reception of the parking command.
VEHICLE SEAT
A seating posture is stabilized for the shoulders of a passenger seated on a vehicle seat. A vehicle seat is provided with a seat back configured to support the seated person from the rear. A shoulder support portion of the seat back configured to support a corresponding one of the shoulders of the seated passenger includes an air cell configured to expand when air is supplied. When the air cell expands, one end portion of the shoulder support portion on the outside in the width direction of the vehicle seat moves more forward than the other end portion of the shoulder support portion on the inside in the width direction.
System and method for detecting surface vibrations
A system for detecting vibrations from a surface is provided. The system includes a coherent light source for projecting a multi-beam pattern onto the surface and an imaging device for mapping a speckle field generated by each spot formed on the surface by the multi-beam pattern to a unique region of an imaging sensor. The system further includes a processor for processing speckle field information received by the imaging sensor and deriving surface vibration information.
SEAT
A car seat includes a first heater, a second heater, and a control unit which controls an output to the first heater and an output to the second heater. The control unit executes a temperature-difference adjustment control, in which the output of the second heater is controlled such that the temperature of the bulging portion heated by the second heater with respect to the temperature of the seating surface portion heated by the first heater is made lower when an ambient temperature is a first temperature than when the ambient temperature is a second temperature which is higher than the first temperature.
OBJECT DETECTION DEVICE
An object detection device is applied to an object detection system which includes an object detection sensor installed in a vehicle so as to be oriented outward to detect an object around the vehicle. The object detection device includes: an error-handling control section that notifies a user of a detection error, if any, occurring in the object detection sensor, and brings the object detection system into an error-handling state; an action determination section that determines whether an error correction action has been performed by a user to correct the detection error, under conditions where the user has been notified of the detection error occurring in the object detection sensor; and a cancellation control section that relaxes predetermined cancellation conditions for cancelling the error-handling state when the error correction action is determined to have been performed, compared to when not performed.
SYSTEM FOR SMART CHILD SEAT VEHICLE INTEGRATION
A system for a vehicle comprises a controller, programmed to output a warning to a registered mobile device via a server over a wireless network, responsive to a safety event indicative of a child being left in the vehicle in a dangerous condition triggered responsive to detection of presence of the child in a car seat and failure to receive confirmation that an adult occupant is still in the vehicle.
Autonomous vehicle seat positioning system
An autonomous vehicle seat positioning system has a controller connected to a display, a control panel and a positioning mechanism of a vehicle seat assembly. The controller operates in a position saving mode and a position selecting mode. In the position saving mode, positioning inputs made by the first occupant are saved in memory as a first upright setting corresponding to the first occupant manually driving the vehicle. Positioning inputs made by the first occupant of the vehicle seat assembly are also saved in memory as a first relaxation setting corresponding to the first occupant viewing the display with the vehicle operating in a self-driving mode. In the position selecting mode, the controller operates the positioning mechanism to move the vehicle seat assembly to positions corresponding the first upright setting or the first relaxation setting.
Detecting objects within a vehicle in connection with a service
A system for monitoring a vehicle used in providing a service is disclosed. The system detects when the service is complete, and upon detecting that the service is complete, the system determines, from one or more sensors of the vehicle, that an object which should have been removed from the vehicle after completion of the transport service, remains in the vehicle. The system then automatically initiates performance of a remedial action.
