SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING DISTRIBUTION OF WEIGHT OF PAYLOAD IN DUMP BODIES

A system for detecting distribution of a weight of a payload in a dump body of a vehicle includes first sensors, second sensors, and a controller. The dump body is pivotable about pins to be selectively seated and titled to a frame of the vehicle. The first sensors are arranged between the dump body and the frame, and detect components of the weight of the payload exerted through the dump body when the dump body is seated relative to the frame. The second sensors are arranged correspondingly within the pins, and detect components of the weight of the payload exerted through the dump body. The controller determines a status of payload distribution in the dump body based on the component of the weight of the payload detected by the first sensors and second sensors, and generate a notification to indicate the status of payload distribution.

A tilt bed for a multi-utility vehicle that is movable from a flat conveying positon to a tilted dump position. The tilt bed has a lift handle construction that combines a molded thermoplastic portion integral with the tilt bed body and a handle bracket that provides reinforcement in the appropriate location to provide a sturdy handle for ease of lifting. The bracket has at least a yoke shape underlying the bed body and is co-extensive with a neighboring edge of the bed body to provide a comfortable lift area. The bracket is rigidly attached to the bed body, and may also have a more robust shape such as a closed loop. For added stiffness and strength, the bracket may also be rigidly connected to the bed frame.

TILTING TRUCK BED AND DUMP TRUCK

A tilting truck bed includes a bed body configured to load materials, lifting supports, shock absorber supports and a shock-absorbing pad assembly. The bed body includes a first bottom plate, a front plate, a tail plate, a left side plate, and a right side plate that are welded to upper edges of the first bottom plate. The lifting supports are symmetrically mounted on the tail plate and hinged to the frame to realize the tipping of the bed body. The shock absorber supports are symmetrically mounted on both sides of the front part of the first bottom plate, wherein the shock absorber support includes a shock absorber support main body and a gap adjusting device.

A dump truck (10) has a tipping body (30) in the form of a shell structure for holding material, which is pivotally mounted to the chassis (19) of the dump truck (10) for tilting about a transverse tipping axis. The truck (10) has at least one hoist pivot (33) configured for connection to a respective tipping ram (18) mounted to the chassis (19). The hoist pivot (33) is positioned to abut against the underside of the shell structure (36) when acted upon by the tipping ram (18) and tilt the tipping body (30) about the tipping axis. However, the hoist pivot (33) is not integral or welded to the shell structure (36). High stress concentrations are thereby avoided or significantly lessened in the tipping body shell in the vicinity of the hoist pivot, and there are no welds between the hoist pivot and the shell structure to become fatigued or crack. This enables a simplified and lighter single skin shell structure to be used for the tipping body.

The second pair of links can be longer than the first pair of links.
