RATCHET UNIT
20170320428 · 2017-11-09 ·

The present invention relates to a ratcheting unit enabling for securing cargo particularly for tightness in order to secure a load of cargo quickly and safely. Typically these ratcheting straps feature a first end with one length of strap secured to the first end via a bolt, and the other length of strap is fed through a ratcheting cylinder. The ratchet allows the user to hook the straps on the distal ends to a secure anchor point, i.e. the side of a trailer. The straps are pulled taught, the loose strap is fed through the ratcheting cylinder and the ratchet handle is used to tighten the slack in the strap, bringing the strap to a higher tension than what one could easily achieve without the aid of a ratchet to hold the tension and provide leverage for taking in further slack.

Automated, wireless, cargo restraint tension control and monitoring system

A cargo restraint system a locking ring coupled to an extension tube, wherein the locking ring comprises an annular body and one or more tabs extending from the annular body. The cargo restrain system also includes a locking tube coupled to the main body. The locking tube comprises one or more grooves complementary to the shape and size of the tabs on the locking ring. The grooves of the locking tube inhibit rotational movement of the locking ring.

Ratchet load binder with two handles
11371582 · 2022-06-28 · ·

The current invention relates to a load binder comprising an axially extending elongate, preferably tubular, member, two shanks, a first and second ratchet wheel, a first and second oscillatory handle; said member comprising end portions comprising inner screw threads in relatively opposite directions so as to accommodate said shanks which are correspondingly screw-threaded and which comprise distal ends, preferably eyes; whereby rotation of the member in one direction causes the distal ends to draw together and rotation of the member in relatively opposite direction causes the distal ends to spread apart; whereby said rotation of said member is effected by a ratchet mechanism which involves the provision of said first and said second ratchet wheel which are suitably secured intermediate the ends of the member and are rotatably mounted between mutually spaced first side members which project from said first and second handle.

Strap winch assembly

A strap winch apparatus includes a frame with a drum gear connected to a drum. The drum is configured to receive an end of a strap whereby the strap is wound around or unwound from the drum when the gear is rotated. The frame also includes a braking member to arrest inadvertent reverse rotation of the drum to maintain strap tension. A handle configured to engage with the drum includes a pivotable pawl. One end of the pawl is configured to engage the gear teeth of the drum gear and index the drum gear in order to tension the strap about the drum. An opposite end of the pawl is configured to displace the braking member whereby the gear and drum are permitted to rotate in a direction loosening the strap tension. Typically, the braking member has a gear tooth engaging portion and a striking portion that may be in intermittent contact with the pawl for controlled loosening of the strap tension.

WINCH BAR AND RELATED WINCH SYSTEM

A winch system may include a winch bar and a winch. The winch may have a base, a spool that is rotatable relative to the base, and a drive hub fixed to the spool such that when the drive hub rotates, the spool also rotates. The winch bar may include a winch engagement portion at an end of a shaft, where the winch engagement portion includes a protrusion configured to engage a socket of the drive hub, where the winch engagement portion includes a first contact surface for contacting an outer surface of the drive hub, where the winch engagement portion includes a second contact surface for contacting the outer surface of the drive hub, and where the first contact surface is substantially parallel to the second contact surface.

RATCHET WITH FORCE INDICATOR
20220176865 · 2022-06-09 ·

A ratchet strap tensioning mechanism includes a barrel defining an axis of rotation and a body and a handle coupled via the barrel. Each of the body, handle and barrel is independently rotatable about the axis of rotation. At least one ratchet gear wheel is mounted to the barrel at a position between a portion of the body and the handle. A driver rotatably drives the at least one ratchet gear wheel about the axis of rotation and a pawl restricts rotation of the at last one ratchet gear wheel about the axis of rotation. A force indicating device is connected to at least one of the body and the handle. The force indicating device is operable to indicate to a user when a predetermined force is applied to the ratchet strap tensioning mechanism.

Cargo Strap Tensioner

A strap tensioner includes a frame, a bridge bar, a stopper, a winding shaft, a gear assembly, a crank and an observation hole. The frame has two sidewalls. The bridge bar is fixed between the two sidewalls. The stopper is of an L-shape and extends from one of the sidewalls. The gear assembly is mounted on the other sidewall and has a worm and a worm gear. The worm gear is axially connected to the winding shaft. The worm is provided with a drive shaft. The crank includes a stem connected to the drive shaft, an arm pivotedly connected to the stem and being capable of being either expanded along the stem or folded over the stem, and a handle on the arm. The observation hole is formed in the sidewall. The handle is blocked by the stopper when the arm is folded over the stem.

Tool for replacing a strap of a tie-down apparatus
11338720 · 2022-05-24 ·

A tie-down apparatus includes a frame, a reel, a coils spring and a strap-replacing tool. The reel is supported on the frame. The coil spring includes an end connected to the frame and another end connected to the reel. The strap-replacing tool for gear includes a gear and a pawl. The gear is connected to the reel at an end and formed with teeth on a periphery. The is pawl engaged with the teeth of the gear so that the pawl prevents the gear from rotation in a first sense of direction and that the pawl allows the gear to spin in a second sense of direction opposite to the first sense of direction. The pawl keeps the gear in position against torque provided from the coil spring via the reel that tends to rotate the gear in the first sense of direction.
