Automatic control of a direction of travel indicator of a vehicle

A method for automatically controlling a direction of travel indicator of a vehicle having the following steps: receiving a signal for the chronologically limited activation of the direction of travel indicator, chronologically limited activation of the direction of travel indicator after reception of the signal for the chronologically limited activation of the direction of travel indicator, starting a timer for a measurement interval after reception of the signal for the chronologically limited activation of the direction of travel indicator, checking a steering angle measurement signal during the measurement interval, and deactivation of the direction of travel indicator as a function of the checking of the steering angle measurement signal.

A steering assembly for a vehicle includes a housing having a signal portion and defining a shaft enclosure. A steering shaft includes a cancellation rib that rotates about a rotational axis and within the shaft enclosure. A trunnion rotates within the signal portion of the housing about a trunnion axis to define a null position and right-turn and left-turn positions. A toggle includes a cancellation member. The toggle axially and rotationally operates with respect to one of the trunnion and the turn-signal housing. The cancellation member in the null position is within the shaft enclosure and axially offset from the cancellation rib. The cancellation member in one of the right-turn and left-turn positions is within the shaft enclosure and axially aligned for selective engagement with the cancellation rib. Selective engagement of the cancellation rib and the cancellation member axially operates the toggle to the null position.

STEERING COLUMN FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STEERING COLUMN

A steering column for a motor vehicle may include a steering shaft that is rotatably supported in a cover unit, an interface for fitting a steering column switch fixed relative to the cover unit, and a transmission element connected to the steering shaft so as to conduct torque by way of a securing means. The transmission element may include actuation means that is movable into operational engagement with the steering column switch fitted to the interface. The transmission element may be constructed in one piece together with at least one securing means for a rotationally secure connection to the steering shaft.

Cancel cam

A cancel cam includes an annular member, a cam wall, and at least one reinforcing rib. The annular member is rotatable integrally with a steering shaft about a rotation axis and includes an outer peripheral portion, an inner peripheral portion, and a first surface. The cam wall extends from the outer peripheral portion in an axial direction and extends along the outer peripheral portion in a circumferential direction. The at least one reinforcing rib extends from the cam wall toward the inner peripheral portion and couples the cam wall to the annular member. The cam wall has a first axial length defined from the first surface in the axial direction. The inner peripheral portion has a second axial length defined from the first surface in the axial direction. The second axial length is shorter than the first axial length.

Steering-column switch unit for a motor vehicle, and motor vehicle having a steering-column switch unit

The invention relates to a steering-column switch unit (1) for a motor vehicle, having a driver part (7) to which an actuating lever (2) can be connected and which is mounted so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis (11) between an initial position and an actuated position, wherein the driver part (7) has an arm (20) which extends perpendicular to the pivot axis (11), in particular in the direction of a steering spindle, and which projects from a main body (16) of the driver part (7), on which arm there is arranged an electrical contact element (8) which, in the actuated position, can be electrically coupled to a further contact element, and having a resetting device (6) with a triggering element (10) which is designed for resetting the driver part (7), and thus the actuating lever (2), from the actuated position into the initial position, wherein the triggering element (10) is arranged on a side of the arm (20) situated opposite the electrical contact element (8).

Lighting device and vehicle lighting system with same

A lighting device includes a thermal sensor, power converter circuits and a control circuit. The thermal sensor is configured to measure an internal temperature of a case. The power converter circuits are housed in the case and configured to be connected with different types of light sources, respectively. The control circuit is housed in the case and has priorities that are provided with respect to the different types of light sources according to their respective types. The control circuit is configured to, when the internal temperature is greater than a threshold, control the respective outputs of the power converter circuits so as to preferentially decrease an output for a light source corresponding to a first priority.
