The present invention relates to a method for sending information to an individual (11) located in the environment of a vehicle (10), the method comprising the following steps: acquiring an image of the environment of the vehicle (10), detecting, where applicable, at least one individual (11) on the acquired image, determining a probability of collision between the individual (11) detected on the acquired image and the vehicle (10), sending at least one item of information to the detected individual (11), the information sent depending on the determined probability of collision, the steps of detecting, determining and sending being repeated, for the same individual (11), with subsequent acquired images as long as said individual (11) is detected on said images and as long as the probability of collision is greater than a threshold.
Apparatus and Method for Warning of an Oncoming Vehicle
Apparatus and methods for warning of an oncoming vehicle are disclosed. The apparatus comprises one or more sensors for detecting an oncoming vehicle, and a light emitting unit controllable to signal to a vehicle behind whether an oncoming vehicle has been detected, the light emitting unit being mounted so as to be visible to the vehicle behind. A controller detects an oncoming vehicle in dependence on information received from the one or more sensors, and controls the light emitting unit in dependence on whether an oncoming vehicle is detected.

A vehicle, such as an articulated bus, includes a lighting system with a light emitting surface. The lighting system being configured for displaying a first lighting configuration and a second lighting configuration. The first lighting configuration and the second lighting configuration are displayed by different proportions of the light emitting surface. The vehicle further receives a monitoring device with a position monitoring module configured for monitoring the position of a road user with respect to the vehicle. The lighting system being further configured for switching from the first lighting configuration to the second lighting configuration depending on the position of the road user with respect to the vehicle. A device for use with a vehicle that includes a cabinet having a plurality of sidewalls that can define at least a portion of an interior region of the cabinet. The device can further include a controller that is electrically coupled to the light source and a trigger assembly. The controller can be configured to initiate operation of the light source in response to receipt of a communication from the trigger assembly that is indicative a change in status of the vehicle.

In addition, the number of light sources for implementing the image is reduced, an overall size of a lighting device is reduced, and durability and reliability are improved because there is no direct mechanical contact.
