Apparatus, system and method for enhanced driver vision based on road level characteristics

A system, apparatus and method for enhancing a driver's field of view in a vehicle. Sensor data may be generated, via one or more first sensors, relating a pitch angle of the vehicle and received in a processing apparatus, which further determines if the pitch angle of the vehicle exceeds a configured pitch angle threshold for a configured period of time. One or more control signals may be transmitted to activate one or more cameras configured to capture image data at least in a front area of the vehicle if the processing apparatus determines that the pitch angle exceeds the configured pitch angle for the configured period of time. The captured image data may then be displayed on a display unit.

INFORMATION PRESENTATION DEVICE, INFORMATION PRESENTATION CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM

An information presentation device includes: an imager to image an area around a vehicle and generate a vehicle outside image; an imager to image an inside of the vehicle and generate a vehicle inside image; a display including multiple display portions; and circuitry to recognize one or more obstacles from the vehicle outside image, generate obstacle information indicating a result of the recognition, generate, from the vehicle inside image, line-of-sight information indicating a direction of a line of sight of a driver, make a determination regarding display on each display portion based on the obstacle information and line-of-sight information, and control display on each display portion based on the determination. The circuitry causes, for each obstacle, an image including the obstacle to be displayed on one of the display portions located in a direction of the obstacle or a direction close thereto as viewed from the driver.

Interactive Safety System for Vehicles

An interactive vehicle safety system having capabilities to improve peripheral vision, provide warning, and improve reaction time for operators of vehicles. For example, the interactive vehicle safety system may have capabilities for portraying objects, which are being blocked by any of the structural pillars and/or mirrors of a vehicle (such as a truck, van, train, etc.). The interactive vehicle safety system disclosed may comprise one or more image capturing devices (such as camera, sensor, laser), distance and object sensors (such as ultrasonic sensor, LIDAR radar sensor, photoelectric sensor, and infrared sensor), a real-time image processing of an object, and one or more display systems (such as LCD or LED displays). The interactive vehicle safety system may give a seamless 360-degree front panoramic view to a driver.

VEHICULAR CAMERA FOCUS TEST SYSTEM USING LIGHT COLLIMATOR IN CONTROLLED TEST CHAMBER

A method for testing a vehicular camera includes providing a vehicular camera and an environmentally-controlled chamber that has a window allowing visible light to pass into the interior of the chamber. A light-collimating device is provided exterior the environmentally-controlled chamber, and the vehicular camera is disposed within the interior of the environmentally-controlled chamber. Light emitted by the device passes through a window of the chamber to project a target within the chamber. Image data is captured with the vehicular camera that includes at least a portion of the projected target. Responsive to processing by an image processor of image data captured by the vehicular camera, a characteristic of the vehicular camera is estimated.

Method for providing visual information about at least part of an environment, computer program product, mobile communication device and communication system

A method for providing visual information about at least part of an environment on a display device is disclosed. The method involves detecting a first vehicle travelling ahead by a sensor device, requesting and receiving the visual information about the environment, a view onto which is concealed partly by the first vehicle, capturing an image of a certain part of the environment including at least part of the first vehicle, and displaying the image of the certain part of the environment and the received visual information as a video stream embedded in the image on the display device. When it is determined that an object different from the first vehicle is present in the certain part of the environment and that the object cannot be driven over, the displaying of the visual information is modified so that the at least one object is clearly visible for a driver.

Vehicle driving support device

A vehicle driving support device performs extraneous matter notification for notifying an occupant of a vehicle that extraneous matter is adhered to a viewing-angle window part which is a part of a window of the vehicle in a viewing angle range of an onboard camera which is mounted in the vehicle such that an outside view from the vehicle is imaged from the inside of the vehicle or a camera lens which is a lens of the onboard camera, performs a process of detecting the extraneous matter adhering to the viewing-angle window part or the camera lens when the vehicle is stopped, and does not perform the extraneous matter notification even if the extraneous matter adhering to the viewing-angle window part or the camera lens is detected when the vehicle is stopped and is not in a state in which the vehicle is predicted to be about to start traveling.
