A mounting system for a mobile device such as a mobile phone on a vehicle dashboard is disclosed. The mobile phone is mounted on a surface of the dashboard and includes sun shielding via a built in sun shield which shields a vehicle display in front of the driver, and extends rearward over the mobile phone to sufficiently shield the mobile phone screen when the mobile phone is mounted in the mounting location provided. The mounting allows the mobile device to be tilted to a desired angle, and optionally provides wireless charging circuitry to enable charging of the device while mounted.

Personal overhead display structure for vehicles

An overhead display system for a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a central strut channel extending across the vehicle ceiling, and front and rear arches also extending across the vehicle ceiling in spaced relation to the central strut channel and in generally parallel relationship thereto. A central bracket has an upward channel attached to the central strut channel and angled surfaces and horizontal surfaces emanating forward and rearward from the central channel. The horizontal surfaces attach to the front strut or the rear strut respectively to provide anchoring stability to the central bracket. Matingly received in the central upward channel is a central fixture which is attached to a display housing at both the front and rear sections. The resulting upside down T-shaped structure provides stability and vibration management to the overhead display mount.

Vehicular driver monitoring system

A vehicular driver monitoring system includes an interior prismatic rearview mirror assembly and a camera disposed at the interior prismatic rearview mirror assembly behind and viewing through a prismatic mirror reflective element into the interior cabin of the vehicle. Supplemental sources of near infrared illumination are disposed at the mirror assembly that are operable to emit near infrared light to illuminate at least the driver-side front seating area within the interior cabin of the vehicle. Presence of the camera behind the prismatic mirror reflective element is not readily apparent to an occupant of the vehicle. The camera at least (a) views the driver-side front seating area of the vehicle and (b) views a passenger-side front seating area of the vehicle. The driver of the equipped vehicle is monitored via processing at the processor of image data captured by the camera.

The attachment portion has a center attachment part; a plurality of attachment pieces which are an upper attachment piece, a lower attachment piece, a left attachment piece and a right attachment piece; and cuttable sections joining the center attachment part and the multiple attachment pieces. These attachment pieces can be removed by cutting the cuttable sections. Therefore, some of the attachment pieces may be removed so as to secure a space around a location to which the ultrasonic sensor is to be attached, thus allowing the ultrasonic sensor to be attached to the vehicle.
