20210101821 · 2021-04-08 ·

Embodiments of a curved glass article are disclosed. The article includes a glass sheet having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite to the first major surface. The second major surface defines a first curvature of the glass sheet. The article also includes a display bonded to the second major surface of the glass sheet using an optically clear adhesive. The display has a perimeter with a display edge proximal to the first curvature. The article also includes a bumper piece disposed at least along the display edge proximal to the first curvature and a frame bonded to the second surface of the glass sheet using an adhesive. The frame is disposed around the display and over the bumper piece. In the article, the adhesive has a first modulus and the bumper piece has a second modulus that is greater than the first modulus.

Phone holder
10979548 · 2021-04-13 · ·

Disclosed is a phone holder, comprising a vertical wall, a base, and a clamping slot in the vertical wall for positioning a phone. A bottom surface of the clamping slot has an inclined surface in contact with the edge of the phone, such that the phone automatically slides to a clamping and positioning position when placed in the clamping slot, thus making it very convenient to place or access the phone. In addition, when the phone slides to the clamping and positioning position in the clamping slot, three contact points can be formed with an internal surface of the clamping slot, and the three contact points can form a three-point clamping and positioning effect for the phone, such that the phone can still be stably fixed in the holder in the case where the phone holder is shaking.

PERSONAL OVERHEAD DISPLAY STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLES

An overhead display system for a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a central strut channel extending across the vehicle ceiling, and front and rear arches also extending across the vehicle ceiling in spaced relation to the central strut channel and in generally parallel relationship thereto. A central bracket has an upward channel attached to the central strut channel and angled surfaces and horizontal surfaces emanating forward and rearward from the central channel. The horizontal surfaces attach to the front strut or the rear strut respectively to provide anchoring stability to the central bracket. Matingly received in the central upward channel is a central fixture which is attached to a display housing at both the front and rear sections. The resulting upside down T-shaped structure provides stability and vibration management to the overhead display mount.

Hand-held device holder

A device for mounting a hand-held device is disclosed. The device providing hands free operation of the hand-held device during a vehicle operation is also disclosed.

Surface force sensor that senses force applied to a surface from an object attached to the surface

A sensor configured to sense when a force is applied to a surface includes a capacitive structure having a first conductive layer, a dielectric layer, and a second conductive layer. The dielectric layer is overlain on the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer is overlain on the dielectric layer. A glass superstrate has a first side and a second side, with the first side overlain on the second conductive layer. The force is applied to the second side of the glass superstrate. The force results from an object attached to the second side of the glass superstrate. The force causes capacitance changes between the first and second conductive layers. The force can be compressive or tensile, depending on whether the object is attached by magnet or adhesive.

Photographing apparatus for vehicle and heating device

A photographing apparatus for vehicle includes a photographing apparatus receiving photographing light passing through a window, a heater that is a heating wire generating heat when receiving electricity, a heated portion to which the heater is fixed, and a pair of electrical supply lines that is connected to both end portions of the heater respectively and supply the electricity to the heater. The heated portion releases radiation heat to the window when receiving heat from the heater. An amount of heat generated by the both end portions per unit time is smaller than an amount of heat generated by the heater's portion other than the both end portions. The both end portions of the heater are positioned on outer peripheral side with respect to the heated portion when viewed in a thickness direction of the heated portion.

Identification and guidance systems configured to facilitate vehicle management in logistics yards or the like are described. The systems can include an identification and guidance (I/G) unit attached to each transport vehicle within the logistics yard. The I/G unit transmits information (e.g., location and guidance information) over a wireless network to a remote controller. The remote controller can transmit relevant information received from the I/G unit to a portable communications device associated with the transport vehicle to which the I/G unit is mounted. For example, the portable communications device may be located in a tractor being used to maneuver the transport vehicle about the logistics yard so that the driver can use the information displayed on the portable communications device to assist with maneuvering the transport vehicle. Related methods are also described.
