Bumper cover retainers including integral attachments that retain a bumper cover to the bumper cover retainer

A vehicle may include a bumper assembly that includes a bumper cover, and a bumper cover retainer. The bumper cover retainer may further include an integrally formed fastening feature that is integral with the bumper cover retainer and that folds over the bumper cover to connect the bumper cover to the bumper cover retainer.

KART
20190202389 · 2019-07-04 ·

A kart includes a frame, front and rear wheels rotatable about front and rear axle axes, and an impact protection structure surrounding the frame. The impact protection structure includes: at least one front protective element, at least one rear protective element, and at least one lateral protective element on each lateral side of the kart. Each of the at least one lateral protective element is mounted to a pivot bearing fixed to the frame so as to be pivotally adjustable about a frame vertical axis, and is disposed closer to the rear axle axis than to the front axle axis. Each of the pivot bearings includes a bearing block and a bearing pedestal pivotable relative to the bearing block. Each of the at least one lateral protective element engages the bearing pedestal of a corresponding pivot bearing. Shock-absorbing dampers are disposed between the frame and the protective elements.

Deformation structure, in particular for pedestrian protection for a motor vehicle

A deformation structure, which is an energy absorption structure, has a series of deformation elements arranged one behind the other in a deformation direction, i.e. the direction in which a load acts. Each two adjacent deformation elements are coupled together by a coupling mechanism, such that in a first load case, in particular a first collision load case, two adjacent deformation elements enter into a latching engagement with one another or are positioned in a latching engagement, such that a relative displacement of the adjacent deformation elements with respect to one another in the deformation direction is prevented, or at least made more difficult, and a deforming of the deformation structure occurs at a high level of force, and in a second load case, in particular a second collision load case, two adjacent deformation elements do not enter into the latching engagement or leave a latching engagement, such that a relative displacement of the adjacent deformation elements in the deformation direction is enabled, or at least made easier, and a deforming of the deformation structure occurs at a low level of force.

Safe protection equipment for all vehicles and drivers from both front and rear

Safe protection equipment for all vehicles will significantly reduce the collision force by spring or liquid cylinder when the vehicle bumps to obstacle or two vehicles collide with each other. This equipment can be used on both front and rear of the vehicle. Combination of springs or liquid cylinder with different elasticity can reduce the collision smoothly. This equipment will protect both vehicles and drivers without changing the current air-bag protection system. It will significantly reduce the damage for serious collision accidents. This equipment is attached to the vehicle chassis on bottom, which will bear the collision force reduced by the spring or liquid cylinder. It might require some design change in vehicle chassis. One option is to add a pad to pass the reduced collision force to the elastic tire when colliding vehicles are running in straight line.

There is provided a sensor protector including: mounting portions that are mounted to a bracket for fixing a sensor, which is provided at a vehicle inner side of a bumper cover, to a body of a vehicle; a covering portion that is plate-shaped, that extends from lower portions of the mounting portions toward the bumper cover, and that covers a lower portion of the sensor; and a weak portion that is provided at the covering portion and makes the covering portion elastically deformable.

Bumper for a vehicle

A bumper for a vehicle includes a bumper crossbeam and two crash boxes extending away from a back of the bumper crossbeam. A one-piece blank made of fiber-reinforced sheet material extends from a wall section of the bumper crossbeam connecting the crash boxes, right into the crash boxes.
