CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD
20240263697 · 2024-08-08 ·

The control device controls a vehicle towing a trailer. The control device is configured to determine whether or not a user is present in the trailer when a shift range is in the parking range. The control device is configured to ignore a shift range switching operation by a driver when the shift range switching operation is performed while a user is present in the trailer.

METHOD FOR TRIGGERING SAFETY FUNCTIONS
20180265026 · 2018-09-20 ·

A method for triggering at least two safety functions from a predefined plurality of safety functions in a motor vehicle, including a) recognizing a trigger signal for one first safety function, and b) generating a trigger signal for at least one second safety function, if according to step a) the trigger signal for the first safety function has been recognized, the first safety function being of a first function type and at least one of the second safety functions being of a second function type differing from the first function type.

Terrain visualization for a vehicle and vehicle driver
10063836 · 2018-08-28 · ·

A visualization technique for a vehicle and a vehicle driver combines a forward facing video camera and a forward facing time of flight camera. The outputs of the camera are combined to provide the vehicle driver with an augmented reality display, whereby topographical features can be identified in relation to the vehicle even if out of line of sight of the driver.

Motor vehicle with multi-collision brake
10053072 · 2018-08-21 · ·

A method for triggering self-braking in a motor vehicle, in which following a first collision during an accident a self-braking request signal is transmitted to a brake controller by a collision sensor unit by a communications device of the motor vehicle. The multi-collision braking requested should be initiated in the event of damage to the brake controller that is caused by the first collision. The request signal is received by a control device of the motor vehicle that is disposed at a distance from the brake controller. The control device then determines whether the brake controller responds to the request signal. If no response of the brake controller is detected, the self-braking is initiated by the control device.

ADAPTING SAFETY MECHANISMS OF A VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEM
20180201212 · 2018-07-19 · ·

A method and a device for a motor vehicle of adapting safety mechanisms of a vehicle safety system. The method includes acquiring (s101) data to create a representation (113) of a current vehicle surrounding (110), comparing (s102) the created representation to pre-stored representations of vehicle surroundings, with a risk assessment measure (R) associated with it which stipulates whether to trigger the safety mechanism of the vehicle safety system. If there is correspondence between the created representation and one of the pre-stored representations; detecting (s103) a vehicle behavior associated with the current surrounding, and determining (s104), whether to adjust triggering of the safety mechanism associated with the at least one risk assessment measure of the pre-stored representation of the current vehicle surrounding for which there is a match with the created representation.

Method for integratedly operating active and manual safety devices

A method for controlling operations of safety devices of a vehicle includes determining whether there is a possibility of a collision with a preceding vehicle on the basis of vehicle driving information, determining occupancy information of a passenger or a type of a passenger or determining whether a passenger has fastened a seat belt using vehicle sensor information, and determining whether to apply, and applying accordingly, full braking, a full braking profile, or an airbag deployment scheme according to the occupancy information of a passenger, the type of the passenger, or whether the passenger has fastened a seat belt when a possibility of a collision is determined, and fully retracting the passenger's seat belt before full braking is applied after partial braking is applied.

Automobile safety and facilitation system

A vehicle emergency system can include a gradual speed reduction system comprising: a first vertical rotatable shaft, a first gear, a first external teeth gear, a second external teeth gear fixably attached to the first vertical rotatable shaft, a third external teeth gear configured to mesh and unmesh with the second external teeth gear, a fourth external teeth gear, a primary cylinder, and a second vertical rotatable shaft; an emergency movement system comprising: a second gear, a third vertical rotatable shaft, an internal bearing cylinder, and a carriage comprising four wheels and a gearbox.

System and method for minimizing occupant injury during vehicle crash events

A method, computer program product and apparatus for minimizing occupant injury by optimizing occupant restraint properties and/or actions in real time, during pre-crash and crash phases. The restraint system uses three catalogs and a database linking these catalogs. The catalogs include a catalog of possible occupant states, a catalog of possible collision scenarios, and a catalog of potential restraint control laws. The database is an assessment of injury outcome for each possible combination of occupant state, collision scenario, and restraint control law. In addition to the catalogs, the method requires four computational components: an occupant identifier, a collision identifier, a restraint law optimizer, and a restraint controller.
