VEHICLE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME
A vehicle includes a door sensor configured to detect opening and closing of a door; a radar provided in the vehicle and configured to acquire radar data regarding an object in the vehicle; a seatbelt sensor configured to detect a state of a seat belt provided on each seat of the vehicle; a seatbelt indicator configured to provide a notification regarding fastening of the seat belt; and a controller configured to control the radar in response to the opening and the closing of the door, perform a first check regarding the state of the seatbelt, check an occupancy and an occupied position of the object based on the radar data, identify a type of the object in the vehicle based on the radar data, and determine an operating state of the seatbelt indicator based on the type of the object and the occupied position of the object.
VEHICLE SEATBELT DEVICE
A vehicle seatbelt device includes a ratchet wheel rotatable together with a spool in an integrated manner, and an engagingly locking portion. When the spool is rotated in a drawing direction at an angular acceleration larger than a predetermined angular acceleration, the engagingly locking portion is displaced radially outwardly so as to be engagingly locked by an engagingly locked portion. Hereby, rotation of the spool in the drawing direction is locked. Here, a control rod is placed axially outward of the engagingly locking portion. The control rod is displaced in the radial direction along with movement of the locking-inhibition movable portion. Along with the displacement of the control rod, a collar member is displaced axially to a restriction position. At the restriction position, the collar member enters a rotation raceway of the engagingly locking portion so as to restrict the engagingly locking portion from being displaced radially outwardly.
SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR LOWER EXTREMITIES IN AUTOMATED DRIVING
An occupant protection device includes a pair of first and second lap belt guiding surfaces, a pair of first and second shoulder belt guiding surfaces, a pair of first and second thigh belt guiding surfaces and a connector. A pair of left and right lap belts, are withdrawable from the pair of first and second lap belt guiding surfaces to restrain a waist of a seated occupant. A pair of left and right shoulder belts are withdrawable from the pair of first and second shoulder belt guiding surfaces to restrain an upper body of the seated occupant. A pair of left and right thigh belts are withdrawable from the pair of first and second thigh belt guiding surfaces to restrain thighs of the seated occupant, wherein the pair of lap belts, the pair of shoulder belts and the pair of thigh belts are connected to the connector.
Seat belt wireless communication system and method
Disclosed is a seat belt wireless communication system. The system includes a detection unit provided in each seat and detecting a first signal indicating whether or not a seat belt is fastened and a second indicating a battery state, a sub-control unit provided in the each seat and transmitting the first signal and the second signal through wireless communication; and a main control unit, performing the wireless communication with each of the sub-control units, causing the sub-control unit to wake up through the wireless communication, receiving the first signal and the second signal from the sub-control unit, determining whether or not a belt of the each seat is fastened and a charged state of a battery, and controlling an output through the first signal and the second signal.
IN-VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
An in-vehicle communication system includes a master control unit mounted on a vehicle, a plurality of slave devices mounted on the vehicle, a plurality of buckles provided in association with each of a plurality of seats mounted on the vehicle, and at least one switch unit configured to generate a signal in accordance with an attachment and detachment state of at least one of the plurality of buckles. The master control unit is communicably connected to each of the slave devices. The master control unit controls the plurality of slave devices based on the signal generated by the at least one switch unit.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO AUTOMATICALLY SET THE HEIGHT OF THE TORSO SECTION OF A SEAT BELT
A vehicle, system and a computer-implemented method for setting a height of a seat belt in a vehicle. The system includes a computer vision module, a motor and a controller. The computer vision module determines a seatbelt-neck distance (SND) and a seatbelt-shoulder distance (SSD) for an occupant of the vehicle. The motor adjusts the height of the seat belt. The controller control the motor to set the height of the seat belt based on the SND and the SSD.
SEATBELT HEIGHT ADJUSTER
A seatbelt height adjuster includes a track elongated along an axis and including a plurality of holes spaced from each other along the axis, a slider slideably coupled to the track, a D-ring supported by the slider, a pin supported by the slider and releasably engageable with one respective hole, and a pyrotechnic actuator supported by the slider and engaged with the pin.
Passenger protection apparatus
A passenger protection apparatus includes: a seat belt including a shoulder belt ; an anchor disposed on one side of a seat to hold one end of the seat belt; a buckle disposed on the other side; a tongue that can hold part of the seat belt; a first activation member that reels and unreels the shoulder belt; a first detector that detects or predicts a collision of the vehicle; a second detector that detects a change in a sitting state of the passenger; and a controller that controls activation of the first activation member. When the first detector detects or predicts a collision of the vehicle, the controller controls the first activation member to reel, and stop reeling or unreel the shoulder belt. The controller controls the first activation member to reel the shoulder belt again, based on the change in the sitting state detected by the second detector.
VEHICLE WITH OCCUPANT PROTECTION FUNCTION
A vehicle with an occupant protection function includes an occupant protection device and an occupant monitoring device. The occupant protection device is provided in the vehicle and configured to perform protection operation of supporting, with a seatbelt, an occupant in the vehicle upon collision of the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device is provided in the vehicle and configured to monitor the occupant in the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device is configured to determine whether the occupant in the vehicle is aware of the collision of the vehicle. The occupant protection device is configured to, in a case where the occupant monitoring device determines that the occupant is unaware of the collision of the vehicle, increase tension of the seatbelt gradually as compared with a case where the occupant monitoring device determines that the occupant is aware of the collision.
Apparatus and method for controlling vehicular active seatbelt
A method of controlling an active seatbelt includes checking whether a seatbelt is fastened, collecting driving information from a sensor or driving assist/safety system installed in a vehicle, determining a safety state of the vehicle based on the driving information, checking whether an airbag is deployed, and outputting a motor control signal for restraint control of the seatbelt in response to the safety state when the airbag is not deployed.
