ASPIRATING AIRBAG MODULE ASSEMBLIES AND COMPONENTS
Airbag cushion assemblies for aspirating ambient air and related assemblies, methods, and components. Some embodiments may comprise an aspirating airbag cushion assembly comprising an airbag cushion housing, an aspiration housing coupled to the airbag cushion housing and comprising an aspiration inlet configured to allow for receipt of ambient air into an airbag cushion, and an inflation module slidably coupled to the aspiration housing. The inflation module may comprise an inflator and one or more inflation tubes or other conduits fluidly coupled with the inflator and configured to deliver inflation gas from the inflator into the airbag cushion.

This invention concerns a tubular element for a gas pressure vessel of an airbag module, in particular of a vehicle, wherein the tubular element (1) consists of high-strength steel, has a first and a second end (17, 18) and from the first end (17) to the second end (18) the tubular element (1) has an undeformed section (11), a transition section (12) and a tapering section (13) and on the tapering section (13) at least one radially outwardly extending collar (14) is formed, characterized in that the collar (14) is separated from the transition section (12) by a first length section (130) having an outer diameter (A1) smaller than the outer diameter (A2) of the collar (14) and the wall thickness of the collar (14) is greater than the wall thickness of the first length section (130). Furthermore, the invention concerns a gas pressure vessel and a process for manufacturing a tubular element according to the invention (1).
Inflator, method of manufacturing the same and module including said inflator
An inflator as well as a method of manufacturing an inflator, a module including an inflator and an airbag module. In an inflator, especially for a protective device in a vehicle, comprising plural components a sealant is applied in the area of abutting components, especially a sealant which adheres to both abutting components.
GAS GENERATOR
The present invention provides a gas generator including: a housing including a top plate, a bottom plate axially opposite to the top plate, and a circumferential wall located between the top plate and the bottom plate and provided with a gas discharge port; a partition wall having a single connection hole and a second communication hole, the partition wall being radially disposed in the housing to partition an interior of the housing into a first combustion chamber on the side of the top plate, which accommodates a first gas generating agent, and a second combustion chamber on the side of the bottom plate, which accommodates a second gas generating agent; an inner cylindrical member disposed in the housing to enclose the first igniter attached to the bottom plate, such that a second end opening side thereof passes through the connection hole in the partition wall in order to be located within the first combustion chamber, closer to the top plate than the partition wall is, and to be spaced from the top plate; the second end opening being closed by a first closing member and the second communication hole being closed by a second closing member; and the gas generating agent also being provided between the top plate and the second end opening closed by the first closing member.
Gas generator
A gas generator includes at least one pyrotechnic substance, at least one subassembly formed at least of a first component and a second component, and at least one third component fixed to at least one of the first component and of the second component. The this component and one of the first component and of the second component each comprise an indexing interface arranged to temporarily block at least two degrees of freedom between the third component of the one of the first component and of the second component.
HEAD PROTECTION AIRBAG DEVICE
A head protection airbag device includes: an airbag configured to cover a window of a vehicle; and a synthetic resin case configured to store a folding completed body of the airbag. The case includes a case body, and a pressing piece formed to partially protrude downward from an upper edge side of the case body and formed to cover a vehicle inner side of the folding completed body. The pressing piece has a band-like outer shape having a width direction substantially along a front and rear direction, and is configured to be able to press the folding completed body toward the case body so that the pressing piece can be bent with respect to the case body and the pressing piece can maintain a folded shape of the folding completed body, the pressing piece formed substantially along a vehicle interior surface of the folding completed body.
IGNITER CASE
A metallic case for a pyrotechnical igniter of a gas generator for a vehicle safety device that includes a peripheral side wall, a closed end, and a weak zone in the peripheral side wall. The weak zone extends along a continuous trace having a first end portion, a second end portion, and an intermediate portion between the first and second end portions. The first and second end portions of the continuous trace both transition from a first point having a first side wall depth to a second point having a second side wall depth. The second side wall depth is greater than the first side wall depth. The weak zone is configured for opening a vent in the peripheral side wall in response to an increase of pressure within the metallic case.
Igniter Assembly and Gas Generation Device
An igniter assembly includes: an ignition device including: an igniter including an ignition portion airtightly accommodating an ignition charge and a conductive portion that supplies an ignition current for igniting the ignition charge, an igniter holding portion having a tubular shape and holding the igniter, and a fixing member made of a resin, interposed between the igniter and the igniter holding portion, and fixing the igniter to the igniter holding portion; a case having a bottomed tubular shape and accommodating a first gas generating agent and the ignition portion of the igniter, and a partition wall partitioning an inside of the case into a space in which the igniter and the fixing member are disposed and a space in which the first gas generating agent is accommodated, the partition wall having moisture impermeability. The partition wall is fixed and in contact with the case.
Pressure wave generating inflator device with slidable gas generator
An inflatable restraint system inflator device having a housing defining an elongated chamber and containing an initial supply of stored inflation gas. An initiator is disposed proximate the first axial end of the housing and an operable closure is disposed proximate the second axial end of the housing. A slidable gas generator assembly is disposed within the chamber between the initiator and the closure and includes a supply of gas generant material reactable upon initiation to produce additional inflation gas. Upon actuation, the initiator and the slidable gas generator assembly cooperate to create a pressure wave to open the closure and to permit release of inflation gas. The slidable gas generator assembly slides within the elongated chamber and gas material reacts to form additional inflation gas.
Diffusor for a gas generator, gas generator with such diffusor and manufacturing method for such diffusor
The disclosure relates to a diffusor for a gas generator of an airbag module, comprising a substantially tubular base body with a longitudinal axis, a baffle cap axially connected to the base body at a first end of the diffusor and a connecting device configured at a second end of the diffusor opposite to the first end. At least one outflow opening is formed in an outer wall of the tubular base body such that gas can flow out of an interior of the diffusor substantially in parallel to a longitudinal axis in the direction of the first end and the second end from the diffusor. The baffle cap is free from an outflow opening. The disclosure further relates to a gas generator comprising such a diffusor, as well as an airbag module including such a gas generator. Moreover, a method for manufacturing the diffusor is also proved.
