Single stage dual chambered passenger airbag
09545894 · 2017-01-17 · ·

An airbag includes at least one panel defining an interior of the airbag, and a divider positioned in the interior so as to divide the interior into a first chamber and a second chamber. A first valve assembly is operatively coupled to the divider for controlling the gas flow between the first chamber and the second chamber. A second valve assembly is fixed within the first chamber and fluidly communicates with an exterior of the airbag. The second valve assembly is operably dependent on the first valve assembly, thereby dynamically controlling the inflation profile of the airbag.

Inflatable electric vehicle

An electric vehicle for personal transportation includes an inflatable body that is airtight and a chassis. The chassis is made of two box-like structures connected together with a hinge so that when rotated together around the hinge the two box-like structures form an enclosure configured to hold the inflatable body when the inflatable body is deflated. The inflatable body preferably holds a number of independent air bags or chambers formed in the shape of an automobile and includes a driver's compartment with a driver's seat. A front-end chamber of the electric vehicle inflates a collision air-bag through a flowable connection when the front-end chamber is impacted in a front-end collision. A suspension system may be present for each wheel. The suspension system includes an arm between two tubular bearings. The arm is made of an air-chamber bag partially contained by a sheet-metal cap providing rigidity.

Vehicle side airbag device and vehicle seat

In a vehicle side airbag device, when inflator operates, gas is supplied to left and right chambers of rear bag portion, and gas is supplied from communication opening through between a left and right side partitioning portions directly into a front bag portion. When inflation and expansion of the chambers are completed, the left and ride side partitioning portions are pushed against one another by internal pressures of the chambers, and the communication opening is closed-off. A valley, that is recessed toward a vehicle rear side, is formed at a front surface of the rear bag portion. At a time when the rear bag portion interferes with a vehicle occupant who is at an improper position, this valley is expanded due to the left and right chambers moving apart from one another in a vehicle left-right direction.

PULSATION CONTROL DEVICE

A pulsation control device includes a fluid supply module, a switching unit, a first path, a second path, and a fluid receiving device. The fluid supply module outputs fluid according to a pulsation signal and a flow rate. The first path is connected between the fluid supply module and the switching unit. The second path is connected between the switching unit and the fluid receiving device. The fluid receiving device can receive the fluid outputted from the fluid supply module. The switching unit controls a state of open or closed between the first path and the second path. When the fluid supply module supplies gas to the first path for pressurizing the gas volume of the first path, the pressurized gas volume is instantly released to the fluid receiving device through the second path, so that the volume in the fluid receiving device changes.

CUSHION AIRBAG DEVICE

A cushion airbag device is provided in a lower part of a seat cushion in a vehicle seat, and includes a cushion airbag inflated in a vertical direction by being supplied with gas from a pressure accumulation tank, a control valve provided in a first pipe communicating the cushion airbag and the pressure accumulation tank and adjusting an internal pressure of the cushion airbag, an exhaust valve provided in a first pipe between the control valve and the cushion airbag and exhausting gas from the inside of the cushion airbag, and a switching valve provided in a second pipe communicating the cushion airbag and the pressure accumulation tank and opened at the time of collision of the vehicle.

MANIFOLD TO SELECTIVELY INFLATE AIRBAGS

A vehicle includes a first seat and a first airbag supported by the first seat. The vehicle includes a second seat and a second airbag supported by the second seat. The vehicle includes a middle console disposed between the first seat and the second seat. The vehicle includes a manifold supported by the middle console. The manifold defines a chamber and including a first fluid outlet operatively coupled to the first airbag to provide fluid from the chamber to the first airbag and a second fluid outlet operatively coupled to the second airbag to provide fluid from the chamber to the second airbag. The vehicle includes an inflator supported by the middle console, the inflator operatively coupled to the manifold to provide fluid to the chamber.
