Frontal airbag systems for oblique impact
An inflatable airbag system can be configured to be mounted at a frontal region of a vehicle. The inflatable airbag system includes an airbag comprising a center cushion and a pair of side cushions each coupled to the center cushion on opposing sides of the center cushion. The side cushions can each have a triangular shape with an apex extending rearward further than at least a portion of an occupant-facing surface of the center cushion. The side cushions can be oriented with respect to each other at opposing angles relative to the center cushion such that an overall geometrical shape of the airbag is wider at a forward reaction base area of the airbag than at a rearward occupant-receiving area.
Air bag packaging arrangement and self-adhesive checking valve
An air bag packaging arrangement and a self-adhesive checking valve, the air bag packaging arrangement includes an air bag and an air valve which is the self-adhesive checking valve. The air bag includes first and second cell overlapped layers to form an air chamber and a valve opening. The air valve includes first and second sealing films overlapped between the first and second cell layers, and a strengthening film provided between the first valve film and the first cell film to strengthen a joint strength between the first valve film and the first cell film, so as to prevent the first valve film from being broken, so as to further avoid an air leakage.
Control device for a gas generator for controlling a volumetric flow, and impact protection system and method for operating a control device of this type
A control device for a gas generator for controlling a volumetric flow of a fluid, which is stored under pressure, for filling an airbag of a motor vehicle, with a valve arrangement. To reduce a response time of a main valve piston, the valve arrangement has a means for controlling a fluid pressure in a control chamber, wherein the means for controlling a fluid pressure is configured to bring or hold the fluid pressure in the control chamber to/at a pressure which lies in a predefined tolerance range around an activation pressure of the main valve piston.
Aspirating airbag assemblies
Airbag cushion assemblies for aspirating ambient air to enhance inflation. Some embodiments may comprise an inflation module comprising an inflator and a plurality of high-velocity nozzles fluidly coupled with the inflator and configured to deliver inflation gas from the inflator into an airbag cushion. A housing coupled to the airbag cushion, may comprise an aspiration inlet configured to allow for receipt of ambient air into the airbag cushion during inflation of the airbag cushion. The plurality of high-velocity nozzles may be configured to, upon actuation of the inflator, draw ambient air into the airbag cushion along with the inflation gas from the inflator. In some embodiments, a valve assembly may be provided that is configured to open upon actuation of the inflator and to close following inflation of the airbag cushion to prevent air and inflation gas from exiting through the aspiration inlet.
Shipping container information recordation techniques
System and method for obtaining and recording information about cargo includes a frame defining a cargo-receivable compartment, a position determining system at least partly on the frame and that allows for determination of position of the frame, an identification system on the frame that obtains information about cargo when present in the compartment, a memory component that receives and records information about position and movement of the frame, and the obtained information about cargo when present in the compartment in association with a unique identification of the frame, and a communications system on the frame to enable communication of information to and from the memory component.
AIRBAG APPARATUS
An airbag apparatus including: a first chamber connected to an inflator; a second chamber connected to the rear of the first chamber and supported by the first chamber, supporting the head of a passenger in case of an oblique collision of a vehicle, and having a first passage through which gas of the first chamber is introduced; a third chamber connected to the rear of the first chamber and supported by the first chamber, disposed at one side of the second chamber, and supporting the head of the passenger in a head-on collision of the vehicle; a connection tether connecting the second and third chambers to limit separation between the second and third chambers; and a shut-off valve closing the first passage to block gas of the second chamber from being discharged to the first chamber through the first passage, when the first chamber is completely deployed.
Gas generator and assembling method therefor
The present invention provides a gas generator in which no positioning device for a cylindrical filter is needed, and a method of assembling the gas generator. The inside of a combustion chamber is filled with a predetermined amount of a molded article of a gas generating agent in a state in which an outside positioning jig is disposed between a cylindrical filter and a circumferential wall portion of a diffuser shell, and an inside positioning jig is disposed between the cylindrical filter and an inner tube. Upon completion of the filling, the two positioning jigs are removed, and the molded article of the gas generating agent is pressed in by an annular underplate. The cylindrical filter is positioned by this pressing-in.
Seat airbag assembly
An assembly includes a vehicle seat including a seat back, an upper airbag mounted to the seat back, a lower airbag mounted to the seat back below the upper airbag, a flexible conduit fluidly coupling the upper airbag and the lower airbag, and a device actuatable between a first state permitting airflow through the conduit and a second state blocking airflow through the conduit.
PROTECTION FOR MOVING EQUIPMENTS AND OBJECTS
This patent application discloses a protection system using one of multilayer airbag, expandable pads, and compressed air for moving and flying vehicles and equipments. The multilayer airbag consists of a number of independent airbags within one another which will be inflated with a time sequence or simultaneously. This type of protection system can be used for various moving vehicles and equipment to protect them from any force due to a predicted impact.
