TECHNIQUE FOR OPERATING A VEHICLE BRAKE HAVING A HYDRAULIC SERVICE BRAKE AND AN ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE
The present disclosure relates to a method for operating a vehicle brake. The vehicle brake includes a hydraulic service brake having an actuating piston, which for generating a first braking force component is movable, under the action of a hydraulic pressure, into an actuating position in which the actuating piston presses a friction lining against a rotatingly supported brake disc, and an electric parking brake, with an actuating element, that is designed to build up a second braking force component that acts on the brake disc. The method includes ascertaining the hydraulic pressure, determining a first braking force component, establishing a second braking force component to be set by means of the parking brake, based on the first braking force component and a desired total braking force, and establishing a position of the actuating element of the parking brake to be set.

The supplemental brake application apparatus is configured to be installed in a towed vehicle. The supplemental brake application apparatus is configured to move a brake pedal of the towed vehicle between a first position and a second position. The supplemental braking monitor is also configured to be installed in the towed vehicle. The supplemental braking monitor includes a proximity sensor configured to produce a proximity detection signal, and a mounting plate configured to secure the proximity sensor in a position such that the proximity sensor can detect movement of the brake pedal. The proximity detection signal is based at least in part on movement of the brake pedal. The transmitter is configured to send a brake status signal to a towing vehicle.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A FORCE REPRESENTATIVE OF A PARKING BRAKING OF A VEHICLE AND SYSTEM THEREOF
A method for controlling a force representative of a parking braking of a vehicle, having the steps of: determining, by a data processing unit, a target value of a force representative of a parking braking of the vehicle to be applied, by a first brake caliper, on a first brake disc on the basis of a value of the gradient of the road on which the vehicle is located; determining, by the data processing unit, a value of a first force contribution representative of a service braking of the vehicle applied by a first hydraulic actuator on the first brake disc; determining, by the data processing unit, a value of a second force contribution representative of the parking braking of the vehicle to be applied, by a second electromechanical actuator, on the first brake disc on the basis of a target value of a force representative of a parking braking of the vehicle which can be applied by the first brake caliper on the first brake disc, and of the determined value of the first force contribution representative of a service braking of the vehicle; operating, by the data processing unit, the second electromechanical actuator to apply the determined value of the second force contribution representative of the parking braking of the vehicle on the first brake disc.

The electropneumatic control module further includes an immobilizing brake unit, which has a spring-type actuator port for at least one spring-type actuator for a tractor vehicle and an immobilizing brake valve unit with one or more electropneumatic valves, and an electronic control unit, wherein the electronic control unit is designed to, based on an electronic immobilizing signal, trigger the immobilizing brake valve unit to switch at least one valve of the immobilizing brake valve unit.
Composite cable and composite harness
[Problem] Provided are a composite cable and a composite harness that allow the improvement of cable termination workability while maintaining the flex resistance. [Solution] A composite cable 1 is provided with a pair of first electric wires 2, a twisted pair wire 4 formed by twisting a pair of second electric wires 3 having a smaller outer diameter than the first electric wires 2 and a tape member 6 spirally wound around an assembled article 5 that is formed by twisting the pair of first electric wires 2 and the twisted pair wire 4 together, wherein a twist direction of the twisted pair wire 4 is different from a twist direction of the assembled article 5, and the twist direction of the assembled article 5 is different from a winding direction of the tape member 6.
EPB LOW RESIDUAL TORQUE SOFTWARE FUNCTION
An electronic parking brake (EPB) system having expanded functionality, such that after a Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) (i.e., host) commands the parking brake units to release clamping force on the brake discs, a pressure differential is generated in the rear calipers. When the normally closed valves at the HECU are opened, fluid is transferred to a low-pressure accumulator, transferring the brake fluid from the housing of the caliper. A pump is then activated to further draw fluid from the accumulator and the caliper, transferring the fluid back to the master cylinder. The suction created by the activation of the pump moves the caliper piston towards the housing and the brake pad away from the brake disc, and achieving the desired air gap.
