The invention provides an apparatus for the temporary storage of a length of a fishing line, the apparatus comprising:

a support plate 6;

a drum 4, about which a length of the fishing line can be wound, the drum 4 being non-rotatably mounted on the support plate and having a proximal end 4a and a distal end 4b wherein the drum 4 is secured to the support plate 6 at its proximal end 4a;

at least one retaining element 28, 30 for releasably holding a section of the fishing line; and a mounting arm pivotably 8 connected to the support plate 6.

The invention provides an apparatus for the temporary storage of a length of a fishing line, the apparatus comprising:

a support plate 6;

a drum 4, about which a length of the fishing line can be wound, the drum 4 being non-rotatably mounted on the support plate and having a proximal end 4a and a distal end 4b wherein the drum 4 is secured to the support plate 6 at its proximal end 4a;

at least one retaining element 28, 30 for releasably holding a section of the fishing line; and a mounting arm pivotably 8 connected to the support plate 6.

A line holder spool for holding an amount of line is provided. The spool comprises a first spool portion securable to a second spool portion. An annular, flexible line trapping mechanism having a first side and a second side is provided. The line trapping mechanism is releasably positioned between the first spool portion and the second spool portion with the first side facing the first spool portion and the second side facing the second spool portion. A first groove is formed in the first side if the line trapping mechanism. The line is windable within the first groove of the line trapping mechanism and the line trapping mechanism maintains the line from unwrapping from the spool. A portion of the line trapping mechanism is selectively movable outward from between the first spool portion and the second spool portion to access the line.

A line holder spool for holding an amount of line is provided. The spool comprises a first spool portion securable to a second spool portion. An annular, flexible line trapping mechanism having a first side and a second side is provided. The line trapping mechanism is releasably positioned between the first spool portion and the second spool portion with the first side facing the first spool portion and the second side facing the second spool portion. A first groove is formed in the first side if the line trapping mechanism. The line is windable within the first groove of the line trapping mechanism and the line trapping mechanism maintains the line from unwrapping from the spool. A portion of the line trapping mechanism is selectively movable outward from between the first spool portion and the second spool portion to access the line.

A pole with a device on one end thereof is adapted to hook or grab a line that is attached to a jug or noodle to allow the user to pull in the jug or noodle without having to lean over the side of a boat and physically grab the jug or noodle from the water. The pole of the present invention will allow all anglers, including the young, elderly and others, to enjoy the fun, action and excitement of jug fishing without the fear of losing one's balance when retrieving the jug or noodle.

A hand reel (10) for a fishing line. The reel (10) including a body (11) and a retaining member (12). The body (11) defines a channel (15) for receiving the fishing line. The retaining member (12) is attached to, or forms part of, the body (11). The retaining member (11) includes a lip portion (17) operable between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the lip portion (17) cooperates with the body (11) to substantially enclose the channel (15). In the open position, the lip (17) portion allows access to the channel (15).

A hand reel (10) for a fishing line. The reel (10) including a body (11) and a retaining member (12). The body (11) defines a channel (15) for receiving the fishing line. The retaining member (12) is attached to, or forms part of, the body (11). The retaining member (11) includes a lip portion (17) operable between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the lip portion (17) cooperates with the body (11) to substantially enclose the channel (15). In the open position, the lip (17) portion allows access to the channel (15).

According to an aspect, another ice fishing stand is disclosed and includes a base, a tip up arm, and a rod holder arm. The base is configured to be positioned about an ice-fishing hole, and has a receiving feature. The tip up arm is configured to hold a spool. The rod holder arm includes a rod holder that is configured to hold a fishing rod. The rod holder arm is releasably mountable to the receiving feature.

There is provided a fishing float comprising a buoyant, elongated body having first and second ends, a means for attaching a fishing line to the second end of the elongated body, and a lamp module attached to the first end of the elongated body. The lamp module is comprised of an elongated hollow watertight casing having first and second ends, with the ends of the lamp module being translucent and different colors such that a solar powered lamp fitted into the hollow casing of the module body can slide from the first to the second end whenever the module is tilted from a horizontal position to a vertical position by a fish pulling on the attached fishing line.

Disclosed herein is a fishing apparatus for facilitating fishing, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the fishing apparatus may include an apparatus body. Further, the apparatus body may be configured to be held by a hand of a user. Further, the apparatus body may be spherically shaped. Further, the apparatus body may include at least one compartment comprised in the apparatus body, and at least one cover attached to the apparatus body. Further, the at least one compartment may be configured for storing at least one item required for fishing in the at least one compartment. Further, the at least one cover may be configured for openably closing the at least one compartment. Further, the apparatus body may be configured to be fitted with a fishing line of at least one length.
