Decorating System for Edible Items

In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to decorating and printing of an edible design on a printable base media based on a user selected image. A central control device may provide, to a remote computing device, a graphical user interface for reviewing images, receive, from the remote computing device via the graphical user interface, selection of an image, generate print data based on the selected image, and transmit the print data to the remote computing device for printing with an edible media printer equipped with edible ink.

PRINTED CHOCOLATE STRUCTURES

A method for printing a three-dimensional crystalline structure such as a chocolate layer wherein, after printing, the material has a desired crystal structure and a plurality of non-random cavities. An embodiment can include printing a liquid first layer of material with a printer onto a second layer of material having a crystal structure. Subsequently, the printed liquid first layer is processed to solidify the first layer. During the processing of the printed liquid first layer, the second layer functions as a crystal seed layer through physical contact with the printed liquid first layer and the second layer crystallizes with the crystal structure. In some embodiments, confections may be formed from high-quality chocolate, where the confection has a reduced caloric content with acceptable mouthfeel. In other embodiments, a confection may have a previously unrealized mouthfeel and taste.

PRINTING 3D TEMPERATED CHOCOLATE

A method for printing a three-dimensional crystalline structure such as a chocolate layer wherein, after printing, the material has a desired crystal structure.

LASER CUT EDIBLE DECORATING SHEET AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE

An edible decoration is laser kiss cut from an edible decorating sheet by optically sensing at least one printed edible design on the edible decorating sheet relative to a laser cutting tool coordinate system and driving a laser along a circuit of cutting locations defined in the laser cutting tool coordinate system. The laser beam forms a separation channel by laser ablation of at least a portion of the edible decorating sheet at the cutting locations while leaving intact the non-adhesive releasable backing upon which the edible decorating sheet rests.

HANDHELD ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR UNIFORM DECORATION OF THE SIDEWALL FOR FOODSTUFF

An assembly and method for uniform decoration of the sidewall for foodstuff coats a sidewall of a baked foodstuff, such as a cake, with a plurality of decorative granular members, while restricting coating the top region of the baked foodstuff with the decorative granular members. A spray gun variably coats the foodstuff with decorative granular members at controllable rates of discharge, while at least one shield blocks the decorative granular members from the top region of the foodstuff, such that only the sidewall is coated with decorative granular members. A fan generates air flow to blow the decorative granular members through a conduit in the housing, and out through an outlet. A screen positions coplanar and adjacent to the fan to prevent backflow of granular members into the fan. The at least one shield is rectangular or curved to accommodate a rectangular-shaped cake or a disc-shaped cake.

SPICE MARKING METHODS FOR FOODSTUFFS

A method of transferring an edible image to a substrate includes mounting a printing plate having an image to a roller; depositing an edible adhesive on the image; transferring the edible adhesive to a substrate; and depositing an edible coating on the adhesive coated substrate thereby transferring a mirror copy of the image onto the substrate. The method may further include placing the edible image in contact with foodstuff and applying pressure or a vacuum to transfer the edible image to the foodstuff. The edible image can be placed onto a foodstuff and light pressure or vacuum can be applied to transfer the image. The foodstuff can be held under pressure or vacuum until the image has transferred.

A topical high resolution image of edible ink and having a resolution of at least 100 dots per inch is applied to a top major surface of a length of food in the form of a thin fruit based paste or confection slurry by a digital imaging printer. The length of food is at a temperature of at least about 75 C. at the time of application. During application, the food is supported upon a moveable platform mounted by parallelogram links and which is moved parallel to the digital imaging printer according to a condition of the top major surface upon which the topical high resolution image is applied and detected by detecting provisions.

Piping bag for applying foodstuffs to a substrate

The invention relates to a piping bag (1) for applying foodstuffs (18) to a substrate (2), this piping bag (1) comprising a bag of plastic foil material, which bag is provided with a filling opening (4) and a dispensing opening (6), and wherein at least one portion of an outer side of the bag (1) comprises a rubber composition. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a piping bag (128, 129), comprising of forming the piping bag by co-extrusion of at least one plastic (101, 102) and one rubber (103) composition, wherein the rubber composition forms an outer side (22) of the piping bag (1).
