System and method for controlling a vehicle
A vehicle control system determines an upper non-zero limit on deceleration of a vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle down a grade being traveled up on by the vehicle. The upper non-zero limit on deceleration is determined by the controller based on a payload carried by the vehicle, a speed of the vehicle, and a grade of a route being traveled upon by the vehicle. The controller is configured to monitor the deceleration of the vehicle, and to automatically prevent the deceleration of the vehicle from exceeding the upper non-zero limit by controlling one or more of a brake or a motor of the vehicle. The controller also is configured to one or more of actuate the brake or supply current to the motor of the vehicle to prevent rollback of the vehicle while the vehicle is moving up the grade at a non-zero speed.
Braking device for a bicycle and braking system for a bicycle
A bicycle braking system includes a server, a portable device such as a smartphone, a display unit, a control unit, a power supply unit, a rotating electrical machine, and a bicycle. The portable device includes an image display unit, a braking condition transmitting unit, and a braking condition setting unit. The control unit regeneratively brakes the bicycle using the rotating electrical machine in accordance with the braking condition set by the braking condition setting unit. The braking system enables a non-user to set braking conditions for the bicycle and to perform braking based on the conditions set by the non-user.
Force-feedback brake pedal system
A force-feedback brake pedal system for cooperative braking of an electric or hybrid vehicle having jointly a regenerative braking system and a frictional braking system includes a brake pedal which is pivotally mounted around a shaft or a bearing, an electronic circuitry which is in electrical communication with the regenerative braking system and the frictional braking system of the vehicle, an actuator for providing force feedback in accordance with the regenerative breaking and friction breaking of the vehicle, the actuator is in mechanical communication with the brake pedal. The force-feedback brake pedal system further includes a compliant element arranged between the brake pedal and the actuator, and a position sensor which, during operation, measuring the deflections of the compliant element and transmitting data to the electronic circuitry.
PREVENTING UNWANTED TRAILER MOVEMENT
Braking of a vehicle and a trailer can be balanced when regenerative braking of the vehicle is activated. The activation of regenerative braking of the vehicle can be detected. Responsive to detecting that regenerative braking of the vehicle is activated, one or more brakes of the trailer can be caused to be activated. Thus, the braking effectiveness of the vehicle and the braking effectiveness of the trailer can be substantially balanced. As a result, a possible push force from a trailer to the vehicle towing the trailer can be reduced, which, in turn, can help to avoid unwanted movements of the trailer (e.g., swaying or jackknifing).

The invention relates to the supplemental generation of energy from a vehicle operation, and specifically to the generation of energy in connection to a vehicle's disc brakes in combination with brushless electric motor-generators. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution making it possible to provide a generator and a disc brake having a compact structure.
VEHICLE AND BRAKING METHOD AND DEVICE THEREFOR
A braking method includes: obtaining a first state information of the vehicle, which includes a vehicle mass and a deceleration required by braking; calculating a braking torque according to the first state information, and controlling the vehicle to output an electric braking torque according to the braking torque; obtaining a current vehicle speed and a mechanical braking application delay time; calculating an electric braking exit speed according to the braking torque required by the vehicle and the deceleration required by braking; calculating a mechanical braking application speed according to the mechanical braking application delay time, the deceleration required by braking, and the electric braking exit speed; and determining whether to control the vehicle to unload the electric braking torque, and whether to control the vehicle to apply a mechanical braking torque according to the current vehicle speed, the electric braking exit speed, and the mechanical braking application speed.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
A vehicle control system may be provided for controlling adhesion of wheels to a route surface. The control system includes one or more processors configured to determine adhesion values representative of adhesion between the wheels of a vehicle and the route surface based on angular speeds of the wheels. An artificial intelligence neural network may generate a target slip value for the wheels that are coupled with at least two different axles of the vehicle by processing the adhesion values and modifying the target slip value to increase an average value of the adhesion values of the wheels. The one or more processors may control a torque applied to at least one of the axles based on the target slip value.
HYDRAULIC BRAKING SYSTEM, INCLUDING A CONTROL SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAID BRAKING SYSTEM
The disclosure relates to a method for operating a hydraulic braking system in a motor vehicle having a regenerative braking function. The method comprises steps that, with respect to at least two wheel brakes, a hydraulic free travel release is carried out such that, with respect to one of the at least two wheel brakes, a hydraulic passage to an accumulator is released in order to store therein at least a volume fraction of the hydraulic fluid in the event of a displacement of a hydraulic fluid. The other of the at least two wheel brakes is hydraulically isolated. The disclosure also relates to a hydraulic braking system for a motor vehicle having a regenerative braking function and a method for controlling said braking system.
Reverse modulation valve assembly including deadband state
A valve assembly is provided. The valve assembly includes a valve body defining a bore. The valve assembly further includes a pull rod disposed in the bore and defining a bolt cavity. The pull rod is moveable between a first pull rod position and a second pull rod position. The valve assembly further includes a bolt disposed in the bolt cavity and moveable with respect to the pull rod between a first bolt position and a second bolt position. The valve assembly further includes a spool disposed in the bore. The spool is operatively coupled to the pull rod to move between an energized position and a neutral position.
DISC BRAKE
Provided is a disc brake including: a piston, which has a bottomed cylindrical shape, and is configured to press inner and outer brake pads against a disc rotor; a nut member (thrust member) configured to thrust the piston through rotation of a spindle driven by an electric motor; a rotation stopping member configured to restrict rotation of the nut member relative to the piston; a flat surface portion, which is formed on an inner side of the piston, and is configured to restrict rotation of the rotation stopping member and stop the rotation stopping member through engagement; and a fixing member configured to restrict movement of the rotation stopping member in an axial direction relative to the piston. This configuration allows easy manufacture of the nut member.
