A method for adjusting brake pressures of a motor vehicle. The method includes actuating, by a control unit, while taking into account determined dynamic state variables of wheels that are to be braked, a pressure control valve with an inlet valve for ventilating and with an outlet valve for venting a brake pressure line that is controlled by the pressure control valve. The control times of the outlet valve are determined depending on control of the inlet valve. In an external braking mode provided for a case where an external braking demand is received that is independent of a driver's braking demand, the control unit adjusts the brake pressure in the brake pressure line according to the external braking demand by determining control times of the outlet valve depending on control of the inlet valve.

Multi-pressure valve controller and method for a vehicle braking system

A vehicle braking system includes a brake associated with a respective wheel of the vehicle, a multi-pressure valve associated with the brake, and a controller electrically communicating with the multi-pressure valve. The multi-pressure valve receives fluid at a first pressure at a supply port and is capable of delivering the fluid at a delivery port at a plurality of pressure profiles. A control signal is transmitted to the multi-pressure valve. The multi-pressure valve delivers the pressurized fluid to the brake, via the delivery port, at one of the plurality of delivery pressure profiles based on the control signal.

20170305372 · 2017-10-26 ·

A compressed air system for a motor vehicle with an air supply system, including: an electric drive motor, which can be controlled for variable speed, an air compressor coupled to be driven by the electric drive motor, an electric power supply for supplying electric power to the electric drive motor, at least one air reservoir connected with the air compressor to receive air from the air compressor, an air utilization system connected to the at least one air reservoir to receive air from the at least one air reservoir, a controller to control the speed of the electric drive motor. The controller controls the electric drive motor to determine the speed of the electric drive motor so that during filling of the air reservoir, when the pressure level in the air reservoir passes a setpoint that is between a minimum level and a higher cut off pressure level, the controller changes the compressor speed so that specific power consumption per unit mass of air compressed is decreased.

PRESSURE EQUALIZATION VALVE
20220048485 · 2022-02-17 ·

A pressure equalization valve arrangement for a rail brake system includes a hold valve and a membrane vent valve each having a control chamber. The hold valve and vent valve are piloted by a respective solenoid valve. A further solenoid valve is connected to the control chamber of the vent valve to allow the pressure across the vent valve membrane to be equalized with the brake cylinder pressure to decrease the pressure difference across the membrane. This results in an improved vent time.
