Swivel deck system for flatcar loading and unloading
A swivel deck loading and off loading system for flatcars. The system is mounted onto a flatbed railcar and works in conjunction with the railroad loading/off loading area for the safe and efficient loading/off loading of transported equipment, such as trailers, from either side of the rail car. The system uses a structured ramp platform, which is affixed to the top flange of a slew ring bearing. The slew ring bearing lower flange is affixed to a mounting plate. This mounting plate is affixed to the bed of the rail car. The ramp platform swivels freely and is supported on a polyethylene sheet, which is affixed to the bed of the rail car. This arrangement operates such that it allows the platform to freely rotate without binding when under load. A forklift is used to lift the front of trailers so that the trailers can be loaded/unloaded from the flatcar.
Assembly for loading and unloading semi-trailers on railway wagons
The invention relates to an assembly for loading and unloading a semi-trailer on a railway wagon, comprising a loading and unloading structure intended to receive the semi-trailer. The loading and unloading structure comprises a lower portion in the form of a support plate intended to carry the semi-trailer and an upper portion in the form of a handling frame intended to be handled and moved by a standard means for handling containers. To this end, the upper portion of the handling frame has a standard container interface intended to be handled and moved by a standard means for handling containers. The support plate and the handling frame are connected either by a fixed link or by a detachable link.
Removable supporting cross-member provided with an adjustable-height fifth wheel for supporting a semi-trailer during the loading, rail transport and unloading thereof
The invention relates to a removable supporting cross-member (1) comprising: a built-in adjustable-height fifth wheel (18) for receiving the kingpin of semi-trailer, and front (26, 27) and rear (28) openings for the passage of the fork arms of a forklift truck or tractor. The invention can be used for moving a semi-trailer, positioning the semi-trailer horizontally on a carriage and securing same for transport, as well as for the corresponding operations during unloading, using only a forklift truck or tractor suitably dimensioned for the loads to be supplied. The invention is suitable for use by those involved in intermodal trail transport.
Method and apparatus for intermodal container handling
A rail-road intermodal freight system. In an embodiment, a conveyor system is provided for placing rail cars in a position for loading shipping containers thereon, while an over-the-road trailer is secured to the rail car. Rail cars have a frame with a front end and a rear end, and a bogie having at least four flanged rail wheels is pivotally mounted to the rear of the frame of the rail car. A method for unloading the rail cars includes lifting the front of the frame of the rail cars and pivoting the rail cars by an angle alpha from the track direction at an unloading area, and lowering the front end of the frame to the ground to allow truck access to trailers on the rail car. By utilizing the method, efficient loading and unloading of train involved in intermodal shipments may save considerable time, and thus reduce costs.
Method and apparatus for rail-to-road shipping
A power system for short trains. In an embodiment, an over-the-road tractor is configured with drive gears on a drive axle to interface with driven gear systems on a rail car. By utilizing the apparatus, a method for efficient delivery of goods in containers on semi-trailers may be achieved, thus saving considerable time, and reducing costs.
Container locking device and piggyback transport vehicle
A container locking device and a piggyback transport vehicle are provided. The container locking device includes: a support, the support being provided with an accommodating space; a locking structure, a first end of the locking structure being hinged with the support, the locking structure having a locking position extending out of the accommodating space and an avoiding position retracted into the accommodating space; and a support structure, a first end of the support structure being hinged with a second end of the locking structure; wherein in a direction away from the locking structure, the support structure has a retraction position and a support position which cooperates with the support.
MULTIPLE-AXLE RAIL CAR WITH SPAN BOLSTERS
A multiple-axle railcar having a load supported by an upper span bolster attached to a plurality of lower span bolsters is disclosed. A group of axles are attached to each lower span bolster using truck assemblies. The method of manufacturing the span bolsters involves fabricating and joining the components of the span bolsters in a manner that forms a camber in the unloaded span bolster.
Universal Hitch Intermodal Well Car System
A system for a well car includes a frame, a hitch coupled to the frame near the first end of the frame, and a first deck coupled to the frame. The frame includes a first pair of sockets located near a first end of the frame and a second pair of sockets located near a second end of the frame. Each socket of the first pair of sockets is configured to engage a support casting of a first pair of support castings located at a first position along a length of a well car. Each socket of the second pair of sockets is configured to engage a support casting of a second pair of support castings located at a second position along the length of the well car. The first deck is configured to hold wheels of a trailer when the trailer is coupled to the hitch.
Goods wagon for transporting goods and basin for such a goods wagon
Provided is a goods wagon for transporting goods, having a head piece at a front end of the goods wagon, an end piece at a rear end of the goods wagon and two side members extending between the head piece and the end piece. A basin for goods is provided, which defines a basin loading surface, and the side members defining a pocket into which the basin is inserted. On the side members fastening elements for the basin are provided, which predefine a loading position in the pocket of the goods wagon for the basin in which the basin loading surface is situated lower than a loading surface provided on the head piece and is situated lower than a loading surface provided on the end piece.
