Train-mounted units and wayside units that incorporate at least two separate and independent radios are used to obtain independent and separate ranging measurements in trains based on communications between the train-mounted units and wayside units. The communications includes communication of ultra-wideband (UWB) based signals.
Electronic tag device for rail traffic concrete prefabricated parts
An electronic tag (Radio-frequency identification) device for a rail traffic concrete prefabricated parts is disclosed, which comprises a bracket. A column is on a top of the bracket. There is a groove on a top end of the column. The electronic tag is inside groove. The electronic tag device further comprises a waterproof end cap which is put on the top of the column. The pressure relief holes, the release-proof clasps, the rebar clamps, the groove on the column, etc. ensure a stable fixation of the electronic tag inside the concrete railroad sleeper. The waterproof end cap is able to protect and fix the electronic tag.
RAILCAR BOGIE
A railcar bogie includes a link mechanism configured to suppress displacement of an on-board unit attaching portion, the displacement being caused by an operation of a suspension. The link mechanism includes: a first link including the on-board unit attaching portion and a first pivot portion pivotably coupled to an axle box or a member that is displaced integrally with the axle box; and a second link including a second and third pivot portion, the second pivot portion being pivotably coupled to a bogie frame or member that is displaced integrally with the bogie frame, the third pivot portion being pivotably coupled to the first link. The on-board unit attaching portion is arranged at a bogie outer side of a center of an axle in a car longitudinal direction. The second pivot portion is arranged at a bogie middle side of the center of the axle in the car longitudinal direction.
Trackside railway apparatus and method for detecting use of at least one trackside component of a railway installation
A trackside railway apparatus includes at least one sensor device which is configured to detect at least one use of at least one trackside component of a railway installation. A storage device stores at least one item of use information dating or tracing back to the detection of the use. A transmission device is configured to wirelessly transmit the usage information to at least one receiving device entering a transmission range in a manner which is temporally decoupled from the storage. The apparatus is configured to detect the at least one receiving device entering the transmission range. A device for determining use of at least one trackside component of a railway system and a method for detecting use of at least one trackside component of a railway installation are also provided.
TRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM, GROUND CONTROL APPARATUS, AND ON-BOARD CONTROL APPARATUS
The present invention includes an on-board control apparatus that generates train position information using ground coil position information and train speed information and outputs the train position information, and a ground control apparatus that receives the train position information outputted by the on-board control apparatus, identifies a position of a train using the train position information and stored track information, generates train control data having a size corresponding to the identified position of the train, and outputs the train control data toward the train.
Rail Vehicle Signal Enforcement and Separation Control
Systems and methods are provided for train operation control and enforcement. A train control system for controlling operations of a train may include a train-mounted control unit deployed in the train, and a plurality of fixed control nodes deployed on or in close proximity to a track traversed by the train. Each of the train-mounted control unit and fixed control nodes includes a corresponding communication subsystem that includes transponders and communication circuits, configured for communicating signals. The train-mounted control unit is configured to transmit signals to and receive signals from the plurality of fixed control nodes, with the signals including ultra-wideband (UWB) signals and with at least some of the signals carrying data pertinent to controlling operations of the train; and to determine control information relating to controlling operations of the train based on received UWB signals originating from one or more fixed control nodes.
SYSTEMS, METHODS AND DEVICES FOR OPERATOR CONTROL UNIT BASED VOIP COMMUNICATION
According to various aspects, exemplary embodiments are disclosed of systems, methods and devices related to operator control unit base VOIP communication. In an exemplary embodiment, an operator control unit based VOIP communication system includes an operator control unit in wireless communication with a locomotive control unit coupled to a locomotive to control operation of the locomotive. The operator control unit includes a first wireless interface to transmit one or more commands to the locomotive control unit, and an auxiliary wireless interface. The system also includes a microphone in communication with the operator control unit. The operator control unit is configured to receive voice signals from the microphone, and to transmit voice data corresponding to the received voice signals via the auxiliary wireless interface. The voice data is transmitted by the auxiliary wireless interface though a railyard infrastructure wireless network using a voice over internet protocol (VOIP).
