The present disclosure relates to a transportation system that includes a plurality of cabs that are attached to suspension frames suspended from a cable using multiple pairs of sheaves running freely on an overhead cable guide-way to allow balancing of total weight of the cab along the cable guide-way. The pairs of sheaves are assembled to articulate in a horizontal plane to allow easy traversing along curved cable guide-way sections. The transportation system also includes a plurality of smart electro-mechanical switches capable of disengaging continuity of line of motion of the cab from the cable guide-way section and diverting the cab onto other cable guide-way sections. Each of the plurality of cabs can be coupled with a plurality of propellers to provide thrust for forward movement, speed control, steering, stabilization of the cab from swinging on the suspension frame and stopping of the cab by reversing the thrust developed thereof.

A train activates an emergency brake when a Station Loop Coil (SLC) used for a stop-position determination function to determine whether the train has stopped at a stop target in a terminal becomes unable to be detected (non-detected state) before the train is determined to have stopped at a stop-position by the stop-position determination function after the SLC has been detected. Thus, the train can be prevented from colliding with a car stop disposed at an end of a track as a result of overrunning. In the terminal protection, an emergency brake or a service brake is activated also when a reception duration during which the SLC continues to be detected reaches a. predetermined threshold time period, or when a traveling position of the train reaches a disposed position of the SLC but the SLC is not detected.

The operations include: performing beam forming processing with a terminal provided in at least one moving object; detecting a beam angle based on a result of the beam forming processing; estimating a position of the at least one moving object based on the beam angle and installation position information of the data transmitting device; determining whether the estimated position of the at least one moving object is within a communication area of the data transmitting device; and transmitting desired data to the at least one moving object through the transmitter if it is determined to be within the communication area.

The communication device may communicate a lockout signal from the activation device to the controller to direct the controller to prevent activation of the propulsion system and engage the braking system to prevent movement of the first vehicle system.
