Steering control device

A steering control device includes a steering wheel configured to allow a traveling direction of a vehicle to be adjusted depending on performed turning operation, an input operation unit disposed in a center region of the steering wheel and configured to receive input operation by an operator, a switching unit connected to the steering wheel and the input operation unit and configured to switch a turn of the steering wheel between a turn of the steering wheel together with the input operation unit and a turn of only the steering wheel, and a controller configured to control the switching unit such that only the steering wheel turns in accordance with an input of an input signal indicating a start of a self-driving mode in which a turn of the steering wheel is controlled.

RETRACTABLE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY AND METHOD

A selectively autonomous steering column assembly includes a steering column shaft. Also included is a steering input device coupled to the steering column shaft. Further included is a column adjustment assembly configured to translate the steering column shaft between a retracted position and a driving position. Yet further included is at least one signal indicating when the steering column shaft is in the driving position. When steering column shaft is in the retracted position, directional control is automated, and when the steering column shaft is returned to the driving position as indicated by the at least one signal, direction control via the steering input device is enabled.

Steering wheel

A steering wheel comprising a steering wheel rim (1) provided with an extended extremity (11), an operating part (2) provided on the radial inner side of the steering wheel rim (1), and an actuating rod (4) fixedly connected to the extended extremity (11). A central shaft (3) is extended from the bottom end of the operating part (2). The central shaft (3) runs through the extended extremity (11) and is inserted into a cavity provided by the actuating rod (4). A bearing component (5) is provided between the inner wall of the extended extremity (11) and the outer wall of the central shaft (3). By fitting the central shaft (3) with the bearing component (5), and by fitting the bearing component (5) with the extended extremity (11), separation of the operating part (2) and the steering wheel rim (1) is implemented, and the steering wheel rim (1) is allowed to be rotated around the central shaft (3). The steering wheel has the operating part (2) and the steering wheel rim (1) arranged separately, when the steering wheel rim (1) is rotated, the operating part (2) does not rotate with the rotation of the steering wheel rim (1), thus ensuring that a driver can easily observe and control the operating part so as to improve the stability and safety of driving.

APPARATUS FOR VARYING THE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL OF A VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR A WATER-BORNE VEHICLE
20190161106 · 2019-05-30 · ·

Disclosed is an apparatus for varying the direction of travel of a vehicle, including a rotatable unit operable by the vehicle driver, in particular by gripping, to vary the vehicle's direction of travel, and a support, or hub for rotatably supporting the rotatable unit, having a respective longitudinal axis and connected fixedly to the vehicle. The support for rotatably supporting the rotatable unit has a unit for transferring movement of the rotatable unit to a corresponding unit for controlling the vehicle's direction of travel, such the rudder of the water-borne vehicle, through a corresponding transmission. The transfer unit transfers movement of the rotatable unit, or steering wheel to the unit for controlling the vehicle's direction of travel, in particular through the transmission to the self-same controlling unit, preferably through the rotary transmission shaft, with a transmission ratio of 1:1.
