Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for providing context specific schema files that allow an automated assistant to broker human-to-computer dialogs between a user and an application that is separate from the automated assistant. The context specific schema file can provide the automated assistant with sufficient data to be responsive to user queries without necessarily communicating with a remote device, such as a server. Multiple different context specific schema files can be made available to the automated assistant according to a context in which a user is interacting with the automated assistant. In this way, latency otherwise exhibited by the automated assistant can be mitigated by providing the automated assistant with the information needed to respond to a user without continually retrieving the information over a network.

Retractable steering column system

A control system for a steering wheel includes a steering wheel switchable between a rotational condition and a non-rotational condition. The control system also includes a steering gear operatively coupled to a plurality of road wheels of a vehicle, the steering wheel and the steering gear electrically coupled to each other. The control system further includes a controller in operative communication with the steering wheel and the steering gear, the controller configured to control the steering gear independent of the steering wheel when the vehicle is in an autonomous vehicle driving condition, the steering wheel being in a retracted position during the autonomous vehicle driving condition.

Steering device

A steering device for steering a vehicle includes a movable member, a holding member, an impact absorbing member, a movement driving unit, and a controller. The controller is configured to perform first control and second control by which the movement driving unit is controlled. The first control is a control for moving the movable member along an axial direction of a shaft member within such a range that a front end of at least one of the shaft member and the movable member is located rearward of a space for movement in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. The second control is a control for moving the movable member along the axial direction within such a range that the front end portion is located inside the space for movement.

According to a steering column for a vehicle according to the present embodiments, a wide convenient space can be secured for a driver in a teles-in state by increasing a teles-stroke while securing an installation space for the steering column, the installation of the steering column is spatially convenient despite the increased teles-stroke, and a teles operation can be quickly performed without increasing the output of a motor, and thus a convenient space can be quickly secured for a driver without degraded noise performance.

Handwheel actuator modular interface

A handwheel actuator for a steer by wire system may include a feedback actuator and a column for operably coupling a handwheel to the handwheel actuator. The column includes a column shaft extending from a first end of the column to a second end of the column. The feedback actuator is operably coupled to the second end of the column and provides tactile feedback to an operator responsive to movement of the handwheel. The feedback actuator includes a torsion bar coaxial with the column shaft. The column shaft is supported relative to a housing of the column by a first column shaft bearing disposed proximate to the first end of the column and a second column shaft bearing disposed proximate to the second end of the column. The torsion bar extends into the column shaft past the second column shaft bearing and is operably coupled to the column shaft via a removable fastener disposed at a portion of the torsion bar that extends past the second column shaft bearing.

Energy absorption strap assembly with breakaway load tuning feature

A steering column assembly includes a lower jacket. The steering column assembly also includes an upper jacket in telescoping engagement with the lower jacket. The steering column assembly further includes an energy absorbing strap assembly operatively coupled to the upper jacket. The energy absorbing strap assembly includes a strap having a stationary leg and a moveable leg, the moveable leg extending from a first strap end region to a curved portion, the stationary leg extending from the curved portion to a second strap end region, wherein the second strap end region forms a U-shape defined by a radially outer segment, a radially inner segment and a connecting segment to join the radially outer segment and the radially inner segment. The energy absorbing strap assembly also includes a pin extending through the radially inner segment of the stationary leg and the moveable leg.
