According to embodiments of the present invention, when a driver applies steering torque greater than the reaction torque of a reaction motor to a steering shaft, the steering shaft is mechanically prevented from rotating any more, and thus the driver's steering feel can be improved.

Steering mechanism with haptic feedback

A steering mechanism for simulating a haptic feedback steering sensation includes a steering shaft connected to a steering wheel. An angle measuring device is arranged on the steering shaft and measures a rotation angle that is prevailing at the steering wheel the steering mechanism further includes an electric motor arranged in a coaxial manner with respect to the steering shaft. The electric motor is configured to apply a torque to the steering shaft. The direction of rotation of the torque applied by the electric motor is usually oriented in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the rotation angle that is prevailing at the steering wheel. Furthermore, the magnitude of the torque is dependent upon the value of the rotation angle and upon the vehicle model that is used as a basis. The electric motor is connected to the steering shaft via a torsionally elastic coupling.

Steering device

A steering device exhibiting improved layout properties around a steering shaft. A steering device installed in a vehicle, the vehicle compartment of which is capable of tilting, has: a first steering shaft, one end of which is connected to a steering wheel; a second steering shaft positioned below the first steering shaft and in a manner such that the one end thereof connected to the other end of the first steering shaft is located above the floor section of the vehicle compartment; and a coaxial motor which applies a rotational force to the first steering shaft and is provided in a manner such that the output shaft thereof is coaxial with the first steering shaft. Furthermore, the second steering shaft is capable of telescoping, because a shaft and a cylindrical member are connected so as to be capable of sliding relative to one another in the axial direction.

Electric recirculating ball power steering system

An electric power steering system includes an electric motor including a motor output shaft. The system also includes a worm operatively coupled to the motor output shaft. The system further includes a worm gear in contact with the worm and operatively coupled to an auxiliary shaft. The system yet further includes a drive gear operatively coupled to the auxiliary shaft. The system also includes a driven gear in contact with the drive gear and operatively coupled to an input shaft to drive a manual recirculating ball steering gear.

Electric power steering assembly

An electric power steering assembly includes a rotor assembly that is rotatable about a longitudinal axis. The rotor assembly has an outer surface and an inner surface. The rotor assembly defines a plurality of magnet pockets that are disposed proximate the outer surface. The inner surface defines a plurality of rotor teeth.

Multifunctional electric recirculating ball steering system for commercial vehicles and control method thereof

A multifunctional electric recirculating ball steering system for commercial vehicles and its control method are described. The system comprises three modules: an electric power module, a mechanical transmission module, and a control module. The system introduces a dual-rotor motor and a common power motor, working together to act on the input end of a recirculating ball steering gear. The dual-rotor motor offers high redundancy, increased output torque, and improved reliability for control-by-wire operations. A fork assembly enables synchronous and asynchronous rotation of the dual rotors, achieving both steer-by-wire and electric power steering functions. Leveraging the high reduction ratio capability of the recirculating ball steering gear maximizes power torque and simplifies the system architecture while ensuring reliability in both traditional control and control-by-wire functionalities.

According to the present embodiments, a torque applied to a torsion bar is attenuated to thus relatively increase the rigidity of the torsion bar, thereby improving the response performance to a driver's steering wheel operation, increasing a responsive torque range, securing the durability of components such as the torsion bar, and simplifying adjustment of the moving distance of a rack bar compared to the number of revolutions of the steering wheel.

One embodiment relates to a motor comprising: a hollow first shaft; a rotor coupled to the first shaft; a stator arranged outside the rotor; a hollow second shaft arranged inside the first shaft; a first planetary gear part which comes in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the first shaft; a second planetary gear part which comes in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the second shaft; and a third shaft for connecting the first planetary gear part and the second planetary gear part, wherein the rotation of the first shaft is decelerated by the first planetary gear part and the second planetary gear part and then delivered to the second shaft. Accordingly, an RPM that is lower than the RPM generated by the output of the motor can be applied to an output shaft of a steering shaft.
