A method for steering a vehicle, having a front axle with steerable wheels, a rear axle with steerable wheels, having a steering system including as its components a steering wheel operable by the driver and at least one automatic steering module, wherein a manual primary steering intervention is undertaken by the driver of the vehicle for the steering wheel, on the basis of which a manual primary steering reaction occurs for the wheels of the front axle, wherein on the basis of the manual primary steering reaction at least one automatic secondary steering intervention is undertaken with the at least one automatic steering module for the wheels of at least one axle.

The calculator includes a base assist controller, a stabilization controller, and an adder. The base assist controller individually or commonly calculates a base assist torque based on the torsion torque. The stabilization controller individually or commonly calculates a stabilization torque for stabilizing a steering system. The adder performs addition of the base assist torque and the stabilization torque.

The motor control apparatus includes a compensation signal generator configured to apply a DC-Link voltage (V.sub.Link) for driving a motor to a parameter map preset in order to estimate a gain and phase of a motor torque ripple generated when the motor is driven according to a motor command current and a motor rotation speed, and to generate a compensation signal (i.sub.comp) for compensating for the motor torque ripple corresponding to a current input motor command current (i.sub.q*), motor rotation speed (ω.sub.m), and DC-Link voltage (V.sub.Link), and a current controller configured to control the current of the motor by controlling an inverter such that a compensation command current (i.sub.q*_.sub.comp), generated by reflecting the compensation signal (i.sub.comp), in the motor command current (i.sub.q*), coincides with a motor drive current (i.sub.q) supplied to the motor from the inverter.

It is proposed that during a monitoring time interval a change over time in the interference characteristic variable and a change over time in a wheel frequency which is correlated to a current wheel rotational speed characteristic variable is monitored and said changes are combined in order to analyze and/or to at least partially compensate steering wheel torsional vibrations to form a common evaluation dataset.
