Wheel Cover Apparatus, Vehicle Having a Wheel Cover Apparatus and Method for Operating Such a Vehicle
A wheel cover apparatus for a vehicle includes an upper planar section for at least partially covering the wheel outer side of a steerable wheel, a lower planar section for at least partially covering the wheel outer side of the steerable wheel, an adjustment device for adjusting a position and/or orientation of the upper planar section and a positioning device for positioning the lower planar section. The upper planar section can be arranged on a body of a vehicle so as to be pivotable about a first pivot axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The upper planar section and the lower planar section are connected to each other so as to be pivotable about a second pivot axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The upper planar section is coupled to the adjustment device in such a manner that, in a functional installed state in the vehicle, the upper planar section is movable relative to the wheelhouse by means of the adjustment device. The positioning device is a traction means transmission.
Trailer mounted battery range extender for electric truck tractor
A tractor trailer battery system having a battery compartment containing one or more battery units which house one or more battery cells, electrical leads from the battery units to a trailer mounted controller in electrical communication with a cab mounted controller which is in electrical communication an electric motor or hybrid engine system. The battery system allows for either the trailer mounted controller or the cab mounted controller to provide principal communication to the electric motor or hybrid engine system.
Deployable splash guard systems for motor vehicles
Exemplary deployable splash guard systems for motor vehicles may include features designed for blocking road spray. The deployable splash guard systems may include a flap that is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position for blocking the road spray. In the deployed position, the flap is positioned within a spray field of a tire of the motor vehicle and is therefore positioned to block the road spray from spraying onto a door handle and/or other structures of the motor vehicle. A control module of the deployable splash guard system may be programmed to utilize a sensor weighting scheme for accurately determining when to deploy the flap.
Tractor fender assembly
A fender assembly for an agricultural tractor including a carrier bracket which supports a wheel fender adjacent to a vehicle wheel. A steering mechanism is provided as part of the fender assembly, such that the wheel fender can be rotated relative to the carrier bracket. Accordingly, the rotation of the wheel fender can be controlled based on a steering signal generated by the vehicle steering system, to ensure that the wheel fender accurately follows the movement of the adjacent tractor wheel.
Wheel well cover for a motor vehicle, and motor vehicle equipped therewith
An optically and aerodynamically improved body for a motor vehicle has a wheel well cover with at least one wheel well for receiving a wheel. The wheel well cover is designed in such a way as to be adjustable by an adjusting mechanism in accordance with the wheel angle, and includes at least two ring portions which surround part of the wheel and which are arranged in such a way as to be movable at least partially into each other and at least partially relative to one another.
ADJUSTABLE MUD FLAP ASSEMBLY AND ASSOCIATED MUD FLAP
The present disclosure is directed to an adjustable mud flap assembly and associated mud flap material. The adjustable mud flap assembly includes a motor, a motor housing, a mud flap extension bar connected to the motor housing, a sheet of mud flap material wrapped around a drive bar which is housed within a mud flap extension bar and a motor drive shaft which rotates or drives operation of the drive bar and the extension or retraction of the mud flap material from an opening at the bottom side of the mud flap extension bar.
Mud flap with adaptable mounting section
Embodiments of the disclosure include a mud flap for a vehicle having a mounting section and a barrier section. The barrier section is configured to deflect matter discharged from a tire during vehicle operation. The width of the mounting section is greater than the width of the barrier section. The mounting section optionally includes a first set of mounting features, each of the mounting features forming a recess or aperture. One mounting feature of the first set of mounting features is arranged at and/or beyond a widthwise extent of the barrier section width. The one mounting feature is also arranged at least partially within a portion of the mounting section width extending outwardly from a widthwise extent of the barrier section width. Further embodiments include mounting a single wide mud flap on a vehicle configured to receive a dual wide mud flap.
VEHICLE FENDER STRUCTURE FOR EASY STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
A vehicle fender structure for easy storage and transportation comprises a plastic molded body and a positioning element. The body is in an arcuate shape and has a surface. The surface is provided thereon with a plurality of protruding parts that are of different sizes for strengthening the body. The surface has two corresponding sides respectively provided with a lateral wall. Each lateral wall is provided with a plurality of partially broken sections, and two sides of each partially broken section are respectively formed with a positioning part. In this way, when the body is pressed downwardly, the partially broken section is expanded to form a gap, by which the body's height is lowered. The positioning element is used to interconnect the two positioning parts of each partially broken section and enclose the partially broken section of the body when the body's arcuate shape is restored.
ACTIVE AND PASSIVE SYSTEMS FOR WHEELHOUSE AIR DEFLECTION
An exemplary automotive vehicle includes a body having a wheelhouse, the wheelhouse including a wheelhouse edge defining a wheelhouse opening, and a wheel disposed in the wheelhouse opening, a suspension system including a suspension component adjacent to the wheelhouse, the suspension component configured to vertically deflect during vehicle operation, an aerodynamic system including an aerodynamic member disposed within the wheelhouse opening and coupled to the suspension component, the aerodynamic member having a first position with respect to the wheelhouse edge and the wheel and a second position with respect to the wheelhouse edge and the wheel, wherein the aerodynamic member moves from the first position to the second position with deflection of the suspension component such that a distance between the aerodynamic member and the wheel is greater when the aerodynamic member is in the second position than when the aerodynamic member is in the first position.
