SLIDABLE VEHICLE CROSSBAR AND OPERATING METHOD
A vehicle assembly includes, among other things, a cargo bed of a vehicle, a passenger side rail mounted to a passenger side wall assembly of the cargo bed, and a driver side rail mounted to a driver side wall assembly of the cargo bed. A crossbar is slidably coupled to the passenger and driver side rails. The crossbar is slidable along the passenger and driver side rails between a forward position and a rearward position. The crossbar is closer to a cab of the vehicle when the crossbar is in the forward position than when the crossbar is in the rearward position.
CONNECTOR FOR REMOVABLE TAILGATE
A connector for a removable tailgate includes a shank, an actuator and a retainer. The shank has a thread, a passage and an opening from the exterior of the shank to the passage. The actuator is received within the passage and has a stop portion and a void, and is movable relative to the shank from a first position in which the void is aligned with the opening and a second position in which the stop portion is aligned with the opening. And the retainer is received in the opening and movable relative to the shank from an extended position in which the retainer extends outwardly from the exterior of the shank farther than the thread and a retracted position in which the retainer is received at least partially in the void and in which the retainer does not extend from the exterior of the shank beyond the thread.
POWERED DUAL HINGE TAILGATE
A power operated tailgate for a vehicle includes a major gate having a hinge about which the major gate is configured to be coupled to the vehicle for movement between open and closed positions, a minor gate configured to be coupled to the major gate for movement between open and closed positions with respect to the major gate, and a minor gate drive unit configured to drive movement of the minor gate with respect to the major gate. The minor gate is disposed at least partially within an outer profile of the major gate and supported by the major gate for movement therewith.
Vehicle having multifunctional tailgate
A vehicle includes a vehicle body, a door and a handle assembly. A door is coupled to the vehicle body and is pivotable about a horizontal axis between a closed position and a horizontal open position. The door is also pivotable about a vertical axis between the closed position and a vertical open position. The handle assembly includes a housing, a first release switch and a second release switch. The housing extends at least partially into a cavity of the door and includes a lower wall and an upper wall that cooperate to define a pocket. The first release switch is disposed along the upper wall of the housing and is configured to be actuated to pivot the door about the horizontal axis. The second release switch is disposed along the lower wall of the housing and is configured to be actuated to pivot the door about the vertical axis.
Tailgate assembly having a door and method of providing access to a cargo bed
A tailgate assembly for a vehicle includes, among other things, a frame sub-assembly that includes a driver side section, a passenger side section, and a connection member coupling the driver side section to the passenger side section. The assembly further includes a door sub-assembly disposed between the driver side section and the passenger side section. The door sub-assembly and the frame sub-assembly are pivotable together about a first axis between a tailgate closed position and a tailgate open position. The door sub-assembly is pivotable relative to the frame sub-assembly about a second axis between a door closed position and a door open position. The door sub-assembly in the door open position provides a cargo bed access opening that extends vertically downward at least as far as a floor of the cargo bed.
Vehicle tailgate securing assembly and method
An assembly for securing a tailgate to a cargo bed includes, among other things, a strap having a first leg spaced from a second leg, and a fastener moveable to an engaged position with the strap. The fastener in the engaged position extends through a first aperture in the first leg to threadably engage a second aperture in the second leg. When the fastener is in the engaged position, the fastener and the strap are configured to secure a tailgate to a cargo bed.
Truck bed storage shelf
A one-piece pick-up truck bed storage shelf including a foldable body having a dimension of an interior perimeter of a truck bed, a top surface and a wheel well engaging bottom surface with the foldable body including a first and a second support panel each having a first and second end, a first side edge of the first support panel having a shape corresponding to a contour of a first elongated sidewall of the interior truck bed and a first side edge of the second support panel having a shape corresponding to a contour of a second elongated sidewall of an interior truck bed and a hinge pivotably connecting the second side edges of the first and second support panel while allowing for the movement of the support panels from a linear condition to a mirroring condition.
TAILGATE ASSEMBLY HAVING A MOVABLE STEP
An assembly for a vehicle according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a step assembly that is movable back-and-forth between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the step assembly is adjustable between a tailgate deployed position and a tailgate stowed position while the step assembly is removably coupled to a tailgate of a vehicle. In the second configuration, the step assembly is adjustable between a vehicle deployed position and a vehicle stowed position while the step assembly is removably coupled to an area of the vehicle other than the tailgate.
Tire Carrier and Bedslide Attachment Systems
A modular accessory attachment system for a tire carrier, a bike rack, container, or other structure that can be selectively attached to either a bedslide, cargo box bed, or tailgate hitch, is provided. The modular accessory attachment system may include a plurality of receivers disposed through the deck of the bedslide. Correspondingly sized posts may be extend from the tire carrier, bike rack, other racks, or accessories, and be disposed into the receivers. Pins, detents, or other like attachment means may be employed to secure the posts to the receivers.
Adjustable tailgate pad
An adjustable tailgate pad. The adjustable tailgate pad includes a front side. The adjustable tailgate pad also includes a back side. The adjustable tailgate pad further includes an adjustable top side coupled to the front side and the back side. The adjustable top side has a width which is adjustable.
