The sill flap thus maintains rolling contact with the tailgate during opening and closing operations. In embodiments of the disclosure, the tailgate opens to leave a gap between the edge of the vehicle bed and the edge of the tailgate, and the sill flap is pivoted into this gap. While being pivoted into this open position, the sill flap rollers rotatably contact the tailgate, so that the sill flap maintains rolling contact with the tailgate rather than frictional contact therewith. This prevents damage to the sill flap and tailgate when opened and closed.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a safety support apparatus for a cabin over engine (COE) truck cabin elevated in a raised position. The safety support apparatus provides a base member having a clamp mechanism which adjusts to truck chassis designs with rails of varying thicknesses. The frame of the safety support apparatus provides a receiver which may engage the bottom of an elevated truck cabin. The frame and base member are adjustable to allow configuration on either side of a truck cabin and deployment of the support apparatus at a range of angles.

The cab holder includes a cab plate, designed for fastening to a vehicle cab, and an upper bearing plate, which is fastened to the cab plate and has a U-shaped structure, designed in order to be held movably in the opening of the lower bearing plate, such that the chassis holder and the cab holder are movable relative to each other. The shaping element is attached to at least one of the lower bearing plate and the chassis plate such that dirt which occurs is scraped off at the shaping element.

The sill flap thus maintains rolling contact with the tailgate during opening and closing operations. In embodiments of the disclosure, the tailgate opens to leave a gap between the edge of the vehicle bed and the edge of the tailgate, and the sill flap is pivoted into this gap. While being pivoted into this open position, the sill flap rollers rotatably contact the tailgate, so that the sill flap maintains rolling contact with the tailgate rather than frictional contact therewith. This prevents damage to the sill flap and tailgate when opened and closed.
