5th wheel towing attachment
The present invention relates generally to a novel fifth-wheel towing apparatus. More specifically, the invention relates to a fifth-wheel towing apparatus that allows a single individual to more easily tow a semi-truck with another semi-truck by utilizing the fifth wheel attachment points of both trucks. The fifth-wheel towing apparatus is also a cost-effective device that can be easily operated, attached/detached, and stored by a single individual.
Fifth wheel hitch
A fifth wheel hitch has a base attachable to a towing vehicle, a seat attachable at a selected elevation above the base, and a kingpin adapter attachable to a kingpin of a trailer so as to permit rotation of the kingpin adapter relative to the kingpin about a kingpin rotation axis. The seat has a mouth which narrows in the longitudinal direction, such as by having a pyramidal shape. A bottom of the kingpin adapter has a shape which can cause both pivoting rotation of the kingpin adapter relative to the kingpin and longitudinal or transverse translational movement of the kingpin adapter and attached kingpin when the towing vehicle is driven to a position with the seat under the bottom of the kingpin adapter and the kingpin is jacked down so the kingpin adapter seats into the seat.
Device for moving a hitch on a pickup bed of a vehicle
A device for moving a hitch on a pickup bed is disclosed. The device includes a pair of elongated rails placed at a distance from one another. Each of the elongated rails includes slant sections extending outwardly and an angle from a distal end of the elongated rail. Each elongated rail includes flat sections extending from the slant section. Each of the elongated rails includes wheels positioned underneath the flat sections. The elongated rails position on the pickup bed of a towing vehicle such that the wheels are in contact with the pickup bed. The device includes a jack for lifting and lowering the hitch. The elongated rails receive the hitch, and the wheels are moved over the pickup bed for loading and unloading of the hitch from the pickup bed. The device includes a rolling hitch carrier bench for storing the device holding the hitch when not in use.
STOWABLE WHEEL TRAILER HITCH
A system and method comprise selectively moving a trailer hitch between a towing position where the trailer hitch is located in a cargo area above a vehicle bed floor and a stowed position where the trailer hitch is located underneath the bed floor and hidden from view.
