Crawler

A crawler includes a crawler main body (a rubber crawler main body (12)), a tensile body (70), guide protrusions (16), and flat surfaces (40). The tensile body (70) is provided with a flat portion (72) that is arranged along a width direction of the crawler main body and a slanting portion (74) that is slanted and arranged at a width direction outer side of the crawler main body relative to the flat portion (72). The guide protrusions (16) are formed at an inner peripheral face of the crawler main body at a width direction middle portion of the crawler main body. The flat surfaces (40) are formed at the width direction outer sides of the crawler main body relative to the guide protrusions (16). Turning wheels (a driving wheel (100), an idling wheel (102) and rolling wheels (104)) provided at a vehicle roll on the flat surfaces (40). In a linear region of the crawler main body as seen in a side view of the crawler main body, if a thickness from an imaginary plane projected from the flat portion (72) in the width direction of the crawler main body to an end edge at a crawler main body width direction outer side of the slanting portion (74) is represented by L, then a result of subtracting a turning direction length of the crawler main body at the flat portion (72) from a turning direction length of the crawler main body at the slanting portion (74) is less than 2L.

ENDLESS TRACK ASSEMBLY FOR SUPPORTING AN IMPLEMENT OR VEHICLE
20200231230 · 2020-07-23 ·

A track assembly includes an elongated main frame supported for pivotal movement on a transverse axis and having opposite end portions supporting a set of end wheels. An endless flexible belt extends around the end wheels and has an upper run and a lower run for engaging the ground. A plurality of longitudinally spaced bogie wheels are positioned below the main frame and engage the lower run of the belt. The bogie wheels are carried by bogie frames supported for vertical movement and also for tilting movement relative to a plane defined by the axes of the end wheels. The bogie frames are urged or biased downwardly against the lower run of the belt by compression members extending from the main frame and preferably in the form of annular rubber spring members.

A vehicle track assembly includes an endless track having a first surface displaying a series of ground engaging profiles longitudinally spaced along the first surface and a second surface displaying a series of wheel engaging drive lugs spaced longitudinally along the second surface, a drive wheel for engaging the drive lugs and at least one idler wheel defining an inside diameter and an outside diameter, where the inside diameter of the at least one first idler wheel is greater than the outside diameter of the first idler wheel per meter of idler wheel width. The at least one idler wheel is a plurality of idler wheels, which may include a first idler wheel and a second idler wheel. The first and second idler wheels may be parallel one another, and may be separated by a distance of greater than the width of the drive lugs.

Rounded track idlers

An agricultural vehicle has a chassis with a drivetrain and at least one rubber track assembly with a rubber track belt. The rubber track assembly has at least one idler, each of which has two idler wheels spaced apart on an axle. The idler wheels each have a tapered outer surface that together define a tapered profile that causes the rubber track belt to self-center upon the rubber track assembly. The tapered profile may define a pair of straight lines at a shallow angle, a portion of a circle, a portion of an ellipse, a parabola, or a hyperbola.
