Continuous Track Pieces and Associated Methods
20190217907 · 2019-07-18 ·

A track piece for a continuous track is disclosed. The track piece is rotationally asymmetric and comprises connectors which enable connection to an adjacent track piece of the same shape which has been rotated 180. This may allow a track to be produced with multiple similarly shaped track pieces which has multiple track surfaces. This may also allow for a continuous track to be produced with a number of track pieces connected along a central band, wherein the track comprises spaced apart lateral track piece projections.

Devices and methods for increasing traction of continuous track vehicles

The present invention is a continuous track center guide traction cap that is mountable to a conventional center guide for a continuous track assembly. The cap includes traction engagement features to increase traction. The features may include one or more grousers or other protrusions that provide better performance. The invention also includes the method of installing the traction cap to an existing center guide.

A transverse bar for tracks of snow groomers is defined by a section bar, which extends in a direction, and is provided with an inner cavity, which extends through the section bar in the direction, is laterally open in the direction, and is at least partially filled with a water-repellent polymer filling material.

Undercarriage assembly

An undercarriage assembly associated with a machine is provided. The undercarriage assembly includes a ground engaging track adapted to crawl on a ground surface. The ground engaging track includes a plurality of track shoes. The ground engaging track also includes a plurality of pairs of track links pivotally connected to one another. Each of the track links includes a body member having a first side surface and a second side surface. The body member also includes a mounting hole defined in the body member. The mounting hole extends angularly with respect to the shoe surface. The ground engaging track further includes a coupling mechanism. The coupling mechanism includes a coupling member adapted to be received within the mounting hole, and welded to the track shoe to couple each of the plurality of track shoes with the respective track links.

Track link with angled seal counterbore

A track link comprises a body defining a top surface, a bottom surface, a first side surface and a second side surface, a proximate end and a distal end, a first bore adjacent the distal end defining a first longitudinal axis and a second bore adjacent the proximate end defining a second longitudinal axis; wherein either the first bore or the second bore is a blind bore, forming a counterbore configured to house a seal assembly and the counterbore defines a wall that forms an angle with the longitudinal axis of the bore that is greater than zero degrees.
