SINGLE-SIDED SWING ARM FOR A MOTORCYCLE
A single-sided swing arm for a motorcycle having a traction means for driving a rear wheel of the motorcycle, the swing arm having a first section for rotatably supporting the rear wheel and second sections for pivotally attaching the swing arm to a structural member of the motorcycle. Geometrical centers of the first section and of the second sections define a virtual swing arm center plane, and a rocker arm with an upper side is between the first and the second sections. The rocker arm has a first side wall region and a second side wall region substantially opposite thereto, and the second side wall region extends into the region of a second section; the two side wall regions are connected to one another by a stiffening girder designed for the passage of the traction means. The stiffening girder extends into a region below the swing arm center plane.
SINGLE-SIDED SWING ARM FOR A MOTORCYCLE
A single-sided swing arm for a motorcycle having a traction means for driving a rear wheel of the motorcycle, the swing arm having a first section for rotatably supporting the rear wheel and second sections for pivotally attaching the swing arm to a structural member of the motorcycle. Geometrical centers of the first section and of the second sections define a virtual swing arm center plane, and a rocker arm with an upper side is between the first and the second sections. The rocker arm has a first side wall region and a second side wall region substantially opposite thereto, and the second side wall region extends into the region of a second section; the two side wall regions are connected to one another by a stiffening girder designed for the passage of the traction means. The stiffening girder extends into a region below the swing arm center plane.
SWINGARM CONCENTRIC MOTOR DRIVE FOR ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE
A motorcycle includes an electric motor having an output shaft defining a motor axis, a rear wheel drivably coupled to the electric motor to propel the motorcycle, a swingarm rotatably supporting the rear wheel, and a frame. The frame includes a main frame member supporting the electric motor and the swingarm. A case of the electric motor is a stressed member of the frame between the main frame member and the swingarm. The swingarm is coupled to the case of the electric motor to define a swingarm pivot axis that is co-axial with the motor axis.
SWINGARM CONCENTRIC MOTOR DRIVE FOR ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE
A motorcycle includes an electric motor having an output shaft defining a motor axis, a rear wheel drivably coupled to the electric motor to propel the motorcycle, a swingarm rotatably supporting the rear wheel, and a frame. The frame includes a main frame member supporting the electric motor and the swingarm. A case of the electric motor is a stressed member of the frame between the main frame member and the swingarm. The swingarm is coupled to the case of the electric motor to define a swingarm pivot axis that is co-axial with the motor axis.
SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE
A suspension assembly for a vehicle includes a swing arm having a proximal end configured to be pivotally connected to a frame of the vehicle, and a distal end configured to support a ground-engaging member of the vehicle. The suspension assembly also includes a rocker link pivotally connected to the swing arm about a rocker link pivot axis from which first and second portions of the rocker link extend in divergent directions. The suspension assembly also includes a linking arm configured to be pivotally connected to the frame, and pivotally connected to the first portion of the rocker link. The suspension assembly also includes a shock absorber that is at least one of: pivotally connected to the linking arm, and configured to be pivotally connected to the frame. The shock absorber is pivotally connected to the second portion of the rocker link.

A trailing link multi-bar suspension assembly for a cycle having improved stability includes a first arm having a first arm fixed pivot and a first arm shock pivot. A shock link has a shock link fixed pivot and a shock link floating pivot. A shock absorber has a first shock mount and a second shock mount. A wheel carrier has a wheel carrier first pivot and a wheel carrier second pivot spaced apart from one another, and a wheel mount that is adapted to be connected to a wheel. A control link has a control link floating pivot and a control link fixed pivot, the control link floating pivot being pivotably connected to the wheel carrier second pivot, and the control link fixed pivot being pivotably connected to the first arm control pivot.
ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE
An electric motorcycle in which a driving force is transmitted to a wheel by connection with less waste. The electric motorcycle is one in which a battery is disposed in a position behind a handle and in front of a seat. A driving motor is located below the seat, and a lower part of a swing arm is supported by an attachment section provided in a pivot plate, a drive shaft that transmits a driving force output from the driving motor to a wheel being supported by the swing arm.
ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE
An electric motorcycle in which a driving force is transmitted to a wheel by connection with less waste. The electric motorcycle is one in which a battery is disposed in a position behind a handle and in front of a seat. A driving motor is located below the seat, and a lower part of a swing arm is supported by an attachment section provided in a pivot plate, a drive shaft that transmits a driving force output from the driving motor to a wheel being supported by the swing arm.
Swing arm
A swing arm secures rigidity, and is lighter than a conventional swing arm, includes a hollow body with a pivot hole in which a pivot shaft is disposed, a suspension fixing portion in the body connected to one end portion of a suspension unit, and a pair of arms extending from the body and supporting respective ends of a wheel axle. Each of the pair of arms includes an outer member having an open cross-section and an inner member having an open cross-section. The outer member and the inner member of each of the arms are joined at respective open end portions. The body includes first opening portions joined with a corresponding one edge portion of the outer member of the arms, second opening portions joined with a corresponding outer surface of the inner member of the arms, and reinforcing support-struts that partition the first and second opening portions.
Swing arm
A swing arm secures rigidity, and is lighter than a conventional swing arm, includes a hollow body with a pivot hole in which a pivot shaft is disposed, a suspension fixing portion in the body connected to one end portion of a suspension unit, and a pair of arms extending from the body and supporting respective ends of a wheel axle. Each of the pair of arms includes an outer member having an open cross-section and an inner member having an open cross-section. The outer member and the inner member of each of the arms are joined at respective open end portions. The body includes first opening portions joined with a corresponding one edge portion of the outer member of the arms, second opening portions joined with a corresponding outer surface of the inner member of the arms, and reinforcing support-struts that partition the first and second opening portions.
