Ground Effect Craft
A ground effect craft having a ground effect wing, a plurality of sponsons, and a control system is disclosed. The ground effect wing may include a fore ground effect wing and an aft ground effect wing. The ground effect wing may generate a stabilizing moment on at least one sponson to stabilize the ground effect craft. The plurality of sponsons may be dynamically coupled to the body. The plurality of sponsons may be dynamically coupled to each other. The dynamic coupling may permit the sponsons to move relatively independent of the body and each other, thereby stabilizing the ground effect craft. The ground effect craft may include a stabilizing wing.
Yawing buoy mast for floating offshore wind turbines
The present invention provides a novel, floating, offshore wind turbine (FOWT) structure, referred to as a yawing buoy mast (YBM) structure. The YBM platform vertically combines a submerged spar buoy with outrigger legs and a mast on which a wind turbine nacelle is mounted. Compared to a conventional spar buoy wind turbine, weight is significantly reduced by optimizing how loads are borne and reacted by the floating structure. The mass of the YBM platform is reduced relative to the energy captured by the turbine resulting in a reduction in the cost of energy (COE). Platform load dynamics are coupled with the dynamics of the wind turbine by integration of the YBM platform and turbine controllers.
FLEXIBLE AQUATIC SUBSTRUCTURES
Disclosed herein are aquatic substructures capable of supporting a weight such as a wind tower and turbine. The aquatic substructures may include a central column and at least one buoyancy container connected by means of a system of cables and beams as described herein.
BOAT WITH A WATER MAT
A water mat for a boat and a boat. The boat may be a pontoon boat. The water mat may include a cut-out. The cut-out may be formed in a forward side of the water mat, with the forward side of the water mat is connected to the stern of the boat such that the outboard motor is positioned in the cut-out of the water mat. A flexible connecting sheet, that is configured to connect the water mat with the boat, may be attached to a connection side of the water mat and extend along the connection side of the water mat.
ADJUSTABLE MULTIHULL RUNNING SURFACE DEVICE FOR WATERCRAFT AND RELATED METHODS
The present invention provides a hull-conversion device and method for modifying the underside of a watercraft, more specifically a multihull watercraft. The hull-conversion device comprising a water diverting surface, a kinematic assemblage, and a frame. The hull-conversion device may be operable to adjust the watercraft's characteristics in displacement mode and planing mode. The hull-conversion device may function to provide a more stable, controllable, and efficient platform for operating a multihull watercraft, and provide a suitable wake for towable water sports.
EXPANDABLE PONTOON BOAT
A pontoon boat includes a center frame, a port side pontoon, and a starboard side pontoon. A plurality of telescoping assemblies connect the port side pontoon and the starboard side pontoon to the center frame. The telescoping assemblies are configured such that the port side pontoon and the starboard side pontoon are displaceable relative to the center section between a retracted position and an extended position.
Auxiliary floating system for the installation and/or transport of offshore structures and method comprising said system
The invention relates to an auxiliary floating system for the installation, transport or maintenance of an offshore structure, said structure comprising at least one essentially vertical shaft, wherein said auxiliary floating system comprises: at least one floating element that remains semi-submerged during the process of installing the offshore structure; at least one coupling structure connected to said floating element; and guide elements secured to the coupling structure and in sliding contact with the shaft. Advantageously, the sliding contact between the auxiliary floating system and the shaft is such that it allows essentially horizontal relative movement between the auxiliary floating system and said shaft, such that during the process of installing the offshore structure, said structure sinks while the auxiliary floating system remains at essentially the same level on the surface.
SAILING VESSEL
Embodiments described herein relate generally to a sailing vessel that can substantially obviate the heeling problem experienced by classical sailboats. During navigation, the sailing vessel is driven forward by an aerodynamic force exerted by wind on the sail, and balanced by a hydrodynamic force exerted by water on a float on the stern of the sailing vessel, the aerodynamic force and the hydrodynamic force being parallel or substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the sailing vessel.
Omni direct modular multi-hull hydrofoil vessel integrated with renewable-energy sources
Disclosed herein are hydrofoil vessels and systems integrated with renewable energy sources. In one aspect, the hydrofoil vessel includes one or more hulls, an omni-directional platform connecting the one or more hulls of the hydrofoil vessel. The omni-directional platform may include at least one of: a sail, a wind turbine, a solar panel, a hydroelectric motor, a hydrofoil controller platform, and a battery component. Also disclosed herein are methods and computer readable medium for controlling an omni direct modular hydrofoil vessel having one or more hulls integrated with renewable-energy sources.
