Safety, rescue, and recovery apparatus and method
A safety, rescue, and recovery device that compressively secures to a limb of a user when inflated. The device can be easily adjusted to be negatively buoyant, neutrally buoyant, or positively buoyant before inflation depending on whether the application is safety, rescue, or recovery. The device may also be integrated into an article of clothing for certain applications. An elongated handle is attached to the device to provide a sliding attachment point for a rescue rope that automatically reduces torque applied to the limb of the user. Consequently, a rescue force applied to the rescue rope can act at a variety of angles along an arc relative to the device.
Infant recreational floatation device
An infant recreational floatation device is provided. In some embodiments, a floatation device for an infant is provided, the floatation device comprising an inflatable ring having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the inflatable ring includes: an air chamber having an upper chamber portion and a lower chamber portion that are divided by a layer; a cut through the air chamber of the inflatable ring that forms a first end of the inflatable ring and a second end of the inflatable ring, wherein the first end and the second end of the inflatable ring are displaced to insert a neck of the infant into an interior space; a plurality of cut-out portions adjacent to the interior space; and a plurality of fasteners placed on the top surface and the bottom surface of the inflatable ring that detachably connect the first end and the second end of the inflatable ring.
INFLATABLE SWIMWEAR
An inflatable swimwear product is disclosed including a main body, a left armlet coupled to the main body, and a right armlet coupled to the main body. The inflatable swimwear product may buoyantly support a user's upper body in water and permit the user's lower body to sink in water, thereby allowing the user to safely practice swimming.
Maritime ballistic safety carrier
A floatation member for ballistic carrier vest includes a first outer layer and an intermediate layer overlying the first outer layer. A peripheral edge of the intermediate layer is secured to a peripheral edge of the first outer layer to define a first cavity therebetween. A panel selected from a non-ballistic panel and a ballistic panel is received within the first cavity. A second outer layer overlies the intermediate layer and a peripheral edge of the second outer layer secured to the peripheral edge of the intermediate layer to define a second cavity therebetween. A valve configured to deliver an inflation gas into the second cavity. In a further aspect, a ballistic safety article for providing ballistic protection for a person is provided.
Inflatable carrying device of watercraft by person
An inflatable carrying device of watercraft by a single human carrier comprising one or more inflatables having a shape to enable it to be secured to one or both shoulders of the carrier, and a shear and tensile strength to support at least in part the watercraft. Various embodiments of the inflatables include an incurvate side about 240-300 degrees to secure to the shoulders, a length extending at least transversely across the seating area of the watercraft, a length about the width of one shoulder of the carrier, and a height to provide forward visibility for the carrier to avoid obstacles. The device makes possible single human transport of watercraft which lack a design structure for solo transport such as a kayak having a cockpit and a sit-on-top kayak.
RECOVERY SYSTEM
Described herein is a device for recovering an object from water comprising an object attachment point, for attaching the device to the object, and an inflatable and/or buoyant target mesh element, the attachment point and target mesh element being linked by an extendible line portion which is extendible when placed under longitudinal pressure. Such a Man Overboard Recovery System allows a vessel to remain under proper control in difficult weather conditions when dealing with a casualty recovery situation.
Inflatable water self-rescue and carrying device
An inflatable device for water self-rescue comprising one or more buoyant inflatables having a substantial size and shape to secure to one or both lower extremities of a self-rescuer, or to one or both shoulders of a single human carrier for transport of watercraft for another embodiment. Shapes of the various inflatable embodiments include an incurvate side, triangular prism, streamlined, and to encompass a portion of the lower extremity. Embodiments include one or more straps to secure the inflatable to the lower extremity, another inflatable, or the watercraft. The device secured to the lower extremity increases water-area and buoyancy to more effectively engage the lower body muscles while performing a standard or similar self-rescue maneuver to aid reboarding watercraft or swimming to safety. The device makes possible single human transport of watercraft which lack a design structure for solo transport such as a kayak.
Self-inflating water rescue device
A self-inflating water rescue device (1) consisting of a belt (2) for fastening to the waist and a lifebelt (5) connected to a compressed gas cartridge (4) attached to an opening trigger (3), the belt (2) and the lifebelt (5) being connected to each other by a safety strap (9), one end of a release cord (11) is connected to the opening trigger (3), the other end of the cord (11) being routed outside the lifesaving device (1), the lifebelt (5) being provided with a release valve (12) where applicable, and characterized by that a storage pocket (8) is formed on at least a part of the outer side of the belt (2) by a fixed wall (6) and an sliding (loose) wall (7), the lifebelt (5) being arranged in the storage pocket (case) (8), the outer part of the belt (2) being itself a fixed wall (6) of the pocket (8), the lifebelt (5) has a basically interrupted perimeter circle shape, the ends (13) of which at the interruption are overlapping when filled with gas, and when not filled with gas the lifebelt (5) is folded into the pocket (8) in an accordion/fan-like manner.
Buoyancy vest vent valve with reliable seating
A vent valve for a buoyancy control device suitable for divers, where the valve may be opened by any combination of over-pressure, manual pressure relief or a powered means, where a force to a valve plug is applied by means of a spring that is constrained to prevent entirely lateral and angular movement but in which movement of the plug in the axis of the seat is unconstrained.
