Stern drives having breakaway lower gearcase
A stern drive is for propelling a marine vessel in water. The stern drive has an upper drive unit with a lower mounting surface; a lower gearcase coupled to the lower mounting surface and a trailing end surface that is angled relative to the lower mounting surface; and a propeller shaft extending forwardly from the lower gearcase and being configured to rotate a propeller for pulling the marine vessel in the water. The upper drive unit and the lower gearcase are configured such that when a forward side of the lower gearcase impacts an underwater obstruction, the lower gearcase is caused to pivot relative to the upper drive unit until the trailing end surface impacts the lower mounting surface, which thereby causes the lower gearcase to completely uncouple from the upper drive unit.
FLUID MACHINE WITH IMPELLER DRIVEN VIA ITS RIM
A fluid machine (1) having an intake part (21), a discharge part (26), and an impeller (24), the impeller (24) being arranged in an enclosure (18), and a transmission (90) arranged in the enclosure (18) and operationally connecting a rim (11) of the impeller (24) with an energy converter (2,2′).
Outboard motors having steerable lower gearcase
An outboard motor has a powerhead that causes rotation of a driveshaft, a steering housing located below the powerhead, wherein the driveshaft extends from the powerhead into the steering housing; and a lower gearcase located below the steering housing and supporting a propeller shaft that is coupled to the driveshaft so that rotation of the driveshaft causes rotation of the propeller shaft. The lower gearcase is steerable about a steering axis with respect to the steering housing and powerhead.
PLANING BOAT
A planing boat including: a hull having a boarding area; a screw unit having a screw, and configured to be rotatable with respect to the hull so that the expulsion direction of a water current by the screw can vary by 360 degrees; and a direction change mechanism having a turning drive force source, and configured to change the expulsion direction by rotating the screw unit with respect to the hull with a drive force of the turning drive force source.
Foot controller system for marine motor
A foot controller system includes a foot controller having a base that engages a portion of a marine vessel when the foot controller is in an operable position. The foot controller also includes a foot pedal pivotable, with respect to the base, about a first axis, and rotatable, with respect to at least a portion of the base, about a second axis different from the first axis. The foot controller controls a first aspect of a marine motor system when the foot pedal is pivoted about the first axis and controls a second aspect of the marine motor system different from the first aspect when the foot pedal is rotated about the second axis.
DRIVE ASSEMBLY FOR A THRUSTER DRIVE AND THRUSTER DRIVE
A drive assembly for a thruster drive. The drive assembly has a drive shaft that can be connected to a drive motor, an upper deflection gear mechanism, a connecting shaft, a lower deflection gear mechanism and a propeller shaft that can be driven by the lower deflection gear mechanism. The connecting shaft connects the upper deflection gear mechanism to the lower deflection gear mechanism. The connecting shaft is connected to the upper deflection gear mechanism by a first shaft-hub connection and to the lower deflection gear mechanism by a second shaft-hub connection. The first shaft-hub connection has a first hub have a first internal tooth set, which is connected in a form-fitting manner to a first external tooth set of the connecting shaft and to an external tooth set of an output shaft of the upper deflection gear mechanism. At least one of the external tooth sets has a crowning.
Clutch assembly and system
Power transmission systems including clutch arrangement and control systems are adapted to be used in numerous different operational environments. Such power transmission systems may include clutch arrangements that provide more effective power transmission capabilities as well as greater durability and longer life. Control arrangements are provided to more effectively control and monitor clutch operation in ways that provide for greater system flexibility and drive options.
Drive unit for marine vessels comprised of drive shaft braking and locking system
The drive unit is designed to be mounted on a marine vessel, including a mobile housing, and is able to pivot around an axis against the hull of the marine vessel. A drive shaft mounted rotary is against the mobile housing and is supported by two roller bearings. A propulsion element rotates in solidarity with the drive shaft. The propulsion unit has, at the front, at least two braking and locking systems of the drive shaft located in an area between the upstream rolling bearing and propulsion element.
Modular azimuth thruster
The present invention is directed to a modular azimuth thruster for propelling a vessel, having a thruster housing around which water flows, and comprising: a standardized core unit having a core unit housing forming part of the thruster housing, a transmission line arranged within in the core unit housing, comprising a propeller shaft extending in a longitudinal direction of the thruster housing, and a propeller arranged outside the thruster housing and being operationally connected to the propeller shaft. The present invention further relates to a vessel comprising an azimuth thruster and a method of configuring an azimuth thruster.
