Controller
A controller includes a first body portion, adapted to be grasped by a person's middle finger, ring finger, and pinky finger, a second body portion adapted to be grasped by a person's index finger, and a third body portion that defines a first surface adapted to receive a person's thumb. A finger switch is positioned on a front surface of the second body portion. The finger switch is positioned such that it may be actuated by the person's index finger. The second body portion is disposed between the first body portion and the third body portion. The second body portion defines an offset with respect to the first body portion. The third body portion defines a second surface above the finger switch, which may receive the person's index finger.

A flight control system includes a flight control computer operable in a flight state and a ground state. A high demand trim relief logic is operable by the flight control computer in the ground state. The high demand trim relief logic is configured to automatically modify the neutral position of a rotor when a command input to the flight control computer to control the rotor is near an allowable limit.
Method of managing discontinuities in vehicle control following a control transition, and a vehicle
A method during which a current position of a pilot control is determined, an equivalent position is determined that the pilot control needs to reach following a control transition in order to avoid modifying the actuator, and at least one mismatch is determined between the equivalent position and the current position. As from a transition, a target is determined for controlling the actuator by giving a corrected value to at least one position variable in a post-transition piloting relationship, the corrected value being determined as a function of the mismatch and of the current position of the pilot control. So long as the mismatch is not zero, the value of the mismatch in the relationship is reduced in proportion to the movement of the pilot control as the pilot control comes closer to the equivalent position.
STATION DESELECT AND CUEING SYSTEM
An aircraft is provided and includes an airframe defining a cockpit with first and second control stations configured for co-activation and complementary deactivation, flight control assemblies disposed at multiple locations of the airframe and a flight control computer (FCC). The FCC is configured to control operations of the flight control assemblies in accordance with current flight conditions and commands received at activated ones of the first and second control stations that are inputted by a flight crew. The FCC includes a secondary monitoring system to identify when commands are input at a deactivated one of the first and second control stations, to determine whether the commands are indicative of normal and intentional piloting inputs and to generate control station cues in an event the commands are indicative of normal and intentional piloting inputs to alert the flight crew of a hazardous condition or automatically turn the station back on.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AT LEAST ONE PROPELLER OF A COMPOUND ROTORCRAFT, ASSOCIATED COMPOUND ROTORCRAFT AND CONTROL METHOD
A control system for controlling at least one propeller of a compound rotorcraft, the control system generating a control order for collectively controlling a pitch of the blades of at least one propeller. According to the disclosure, the control system comprises: a first piloting control for generating a first control setpoint; a second piloting control for at least generating a second control setpoint different from first control setpoint; and a control unit configured to generate control order depending on the first control setpoint and second control setpoint, the control unit implementing a control law generating the control order as a function of first control setpoint and the second control setpoint.
COLLECTIVE CONTROL STICK MOUNTED THROTTLE CONTROL ASSEMBLY
An aircraft includes an electronically controlled engine (ECE) and a first and a second throttle control assembly. The first throttle control assembly includes a first throttle fly button configured to command a FLY mode and a first throttle idle button configured to command an IDLE mode. The second throttle control assembly includes a second throttle fly button configured to command the FLY mode and a second throttle idle button configured to command the IDLE mode.
AIRCRAFT INCEPTOR APPARATUS AND AIRCRAFT FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM
An inceptor apparatus for an aircraft comprises a primary inceptor member provided in the form of a stick member having a grip portion, at which the stick member can be gripped by a pilot's hand, and a secondary inceptor member provided at an upper portion of the primary inceptor member and having an actuating portion, at which the secondary inceptor member can be manually actuated by a pilot's thumb. Both inceptor members have associated a respective sensor assembly which is provided to generate electronic flight control signals or commands in response to at least one of i) pivoting movements of the respective inceptor member around each of two independent maneuvering axes associated to the inceptor member, ii) forces acting on or via the respective inceptor member in pivoting directions with respect to each of the maneuvering axes, and iii) lateral flexing or bending of the respective inceptor member.
System and method for piloting an aircraft
A piloting system having a control stick configured to control the aircraft with respect to its three piloting axes, namely the pitch axis, the roll axis and the yaw axis, and an auxiliary control device configured to automatically control the aircraft during one of the following phases: a landing phase and a takeoff phase. The auxiliary control device automatically controls the aircraft with respect to at least one of the piloting axes, and the other piloting axes, which are not controlled automatically by the auxiliary control device, then being controlled manually by a pilot with the aid of the control stick.
Selector lever with independent slides
A selector lever with redundant detent pins and detent plates and a method for using the selector lever to test for a failure of one or more detent pins. The selector lever includes at least two slides for independently moving the detent pins within the detent plates. The independent slides allow one detent pin to remain engaged. With only one detent pin engaged, the operator may test the ability to move the shaft and conclude whether or not the detent pin has failed.
