System for Horizontal Take-off and Landing
A system for creating thrust for flying machines with Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) including a first propulsion unit, a second propulsion unit, a top winget, a bottom winget, two or more tracks running over said first and second propulsion units, and wherein the two or more tracks are configured to mount said top and bottom wingets.
Airplane wing
A wing for an airplane has an outer wing end and an inner side of the wing for mounting to the airplane. The outer wing has at least two winglets connected to the wing, including an upstream winglet preceding a downstream winglet in a flight direction of the wing. The first winglet and the second winglet are mutually inclined, as seen against the flight direction, by a relative dihedral angle.
Mono-Winged Drone
An aircraft with a variety of control surfaces including but not limited to multiple winglet rudders. Each winglet can have multiple independently controlled rudders to improve the flight stability and maneuverability of the aircraft. Additionally, improved power supply systems can be implemented to allow for sustained flight.
Morphing control surface
The invention relates to an aerodynamic profiled body for an aircraft, in particular a winglet, comprising a front profiled element having a profile front edge, a rear profiled element having a profile rear edge, and an adjusting unit, which connects the front profiled element to the rear profiled element and by means of which the rear profiled element can be moved in relation to the front profiled element, wherein the adjusting unit has a front mounting device connected to the front profiled element, a rear mounting device connected to the rear profiled element, and a force-transmitting device, which connects the front mounting device and the rear mounting device to each other.
Aircraft wing tips
An aircraft wing having a fixed root part hingedly connected to a moveable tip part is disclosed. The tip part is configured to pivot relative to the root part about a substantially horizontal axis, between a load-alleviating configuration in which the tip part is oriented relative to the root part such that at least one of the upper and lower surface of the tip part is positioned away from the respective surface of the root part and a flight configuration in which the upper and lower surfaces of the tip part are continuations of the upper and lower surfaces of the root part. The shape of the tip part is controllably switchable between a cruise shape in which the tip part has positive camber and a recovery shape in which the tip part has negative camber.
Retrofit flight control surface
A method of retrofitting a wing of a fixed wing aircraft is disclosed including the steps of providing an existing aircraft wing with a main fixed wing portion, and the main fixed wing portion having a tip end and an existing movable flight control surface connected adjacent the tip end. The existing movable flight control surface is then removed from the main fixed wing portion, and a wing tip device and movable flight control surface are selected as a pair to replace the existing movable flight control surface, with the selected movable flight control surface having an aerodynamic surface of different shape to the shape of the flight control surface removed from the wing. The selected wing tip device and movable flight control surface are then fitted to the main fixed wing portion.
Wing tip control effector
An aircraft can include a first wing and a second wing. The first wing can extend laterally from an aircraft body to a first tip, and the second wing can extend laterally from the aircraft body to a second tip. The aircraft can include a first end effector and a second end effector, each including a fore winglet and an aft winglet. The fore and aft winglets of the first end effector can be pivotably connected to the first tip. The fore and aft winglets of the second end effector can be pivotably connected to the second tip. The fore and aft winglets of the first and second end effectors can be independently operable. The first and second end effectors can be independently operable. A processor can be operatively connected to control movement of the fore and aft winglets of the first and second end effectors.
Short take off and land aircraft
A Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) aircraft has a fuselage with an axis and an engine providing thrust, a first aileron at an end of a first wing, a second aileron at an end of a second wing, a first slot having a length through the first wing proximate the first aileron, orthogonal to the axis; a second slot having a length through the second wing proximate the second aileron, orthogonal to the axis; a first electric motor in the first wing driving a first two-blade propeller in the first slot, a second electric motor in the second wing driving a second two-blade propeller in the second slot, and a control mechanism enabling a user to drive the first and second electric motors in a same rotary direction, to reverse the rotary direction, and to drive the first and second motors at a same rpm.
Adjustable lift modification wingtip
An adjustable lift modification wingtip may be attached to a baseline wing of an aircraft. The adjustable lift modification wingtip may comprise a horizontal portion including a control surface and a vertical portion coupled to the horizontal portion. The vertical portion may move about an axis that may be substantially perpendicular to the horizontal portion. The control surface and the vertical portion may be adjusted in conjunction to increase wing efficiency at a flight condition.
Retractable vortex generator system for an aircraft
A retractable vortex generator system for an aircraft. The system comprises a skin, a slot arranged on the skin, a plate comprising a contour configured for energizing the boundary layer of an air current, and driving means configured for rotating the plate between a first and a second position. In the first position at least part of the contour of the plate protrudes through the slot, and in the second position the plate is retracted within the slot.
