MANNED AND UNMANNED AIRCRAFT
A manned or unmanned aircraft has a main body with a circular shape and a circular outer periphery. One or more rotor blades extend substantially horizontally outward from the main body at or about the circular outer periphery. In addition, one or more counter-rotation blades extend substantially horizontally outward from said main body at or about the circular outer periphery, but vertically offset from the main rotor blades.

PROPULSION UNIT WITH FOLDABLE PROPELLER BLADES AND METHOD FOR STOPPING THE PROPELLER IN AN INDEXED ANGULAR POSITION
A propulsion unit having a propeller for an aircraft including a nacelle; a propeller mounted in the nacelle so as to be capable of rotating about a longitudinal axis of rotation, the propeller having blades mounted by a root so as to be capable of pivoting between a deployed position, in which they extend radially relative to the axis of rotation, and a folded position, in which they are longitudinally received against the nacelle; drive means that rotate the propeller; indexing means for stopping the propeller in at least one indexed angular position relative to the nacelle; the propulsion unit wherein the indexing means consist of a stepping electric motor including a rotor that is coupled to the propeller.

Distributed Propulsion System for Vertical Take Off and Landing Closed Wing Aircraft
An aircraft includes a closed wing, a fuselage at least partially disposed within a perimeter of the closed wing, and one or more spokes coupling the closed wing to the fuselage. A source of electric power is disposed within or attached to the closed wing, fuselage or one or more spokes. A plurality of electric motors are disposed within or attached to the one or more spokes in a distributed configuration. Each electric motor is connected to the source of electric power. A propeller is operably connected to each of the electric motors and proximate to a leading edge of the one or more spokes. One or more processors are communicably coupled to the plurality of electric motors. A longitudinal axis of the fuselage is substantially vertical in vertical takeoff and landing and stationary flight, and substantially in a direction of a forward flight in a forward flight mode.
