Case sealing device
A case sealing device is disclosed. The case sealing device conveys a cardboard box and simultaneously closes a flap group provided on edges of opening of the cardboard box. The case sealing device includes a folding member, a drive unit, and a control unit. The folding member contacts a flap of the flap group that extends along a conveyance direction of the cardboard box and folds the flap. The drive unit moves the folding member. The control unit controls the drive unit. In operation of folding the flap, a longitudinal direction of the folding member is inclined with respect to the conveyance direction such that the folding member contacts a front edge of the flap in the conveyance direction before other portions of the flap.
PACKAGING FOR A MEDICAL DEVICE
A method of packaging a medical device, such as an infusion set (10), comprises forming a base (28) having a cavity (29), placing the medical device (10) within the cavity (29) of the base (28), applying an instruction guide (24) to an inner surface (22) of a peelable cover (20), applying adhesive (26) between the base (28) and the inner surface (22) of the peelable cover (20) surrounding the instruction guide (24), and sealing the peelable cover (20) to the base (28) via the adhesive (26).
Apparatus and method for closing a package with a movable pouring spout
For closing packages (9) provided with a movable pouring spout, an adhesive is applied to one or both portions of a first pair of folding portions (16) which are movable integrally with an inclined wall (14) of a chamfered corner (10) of the package (9). The first folding portions (16) may be coupled to a second pair of folding portions (18), which are movable integrally with an oscillatable tongue (12) of the spout. The adhesive adheres the second portions (18) to the first portions (16) when the tongue (12) moves toward the inclined wall (14).
Re-closure Tape Application on Packaging Machine
A tape closure system is shown and described herein. The tape closure system includes a first tape component having a pressure sensitive adhesive and a second tape component having a pressure sensitive adhesive, where at least one of the pressure sensitive adhesives has a modified surface to reduce the tack of the surface such that when the first and second pressure adhesives are brought into contact with one another they may sufficiently adhere to one another to form a seal but are still separable from one another and able to be repeatedly opened and sealed. Such a tape may be manufactured through high speed manufacturing processes and wound into large master rolls. In the roll configuration, the modified surface contacts the backside of the liner and experiences compressive forces in the roll. Due to the compressive forces, a part of the modified surface may get pushed into the PSA, thereby affecting the properties of the modified adhesive. An embodiment of this invention provides an embossed liner with spacers that nest the modified adhesive surface when it is self-wound, thereby preventing the deterioration of the adhesive properties. An embodiment of the invention is a method by which the adhesive-based closure system can be applied on to a flexible packaging material on a Form Fill Seal packaging machine in one of three ways: (1) In a form of a tape from a spool. (2) In a form of an adhesive dispensed directly on to flexible packaging material. (3) In form of a tape dispensed from a roll of pressure sensitive adhesive roll. Another embodiment of the invention is a double sided tape with the detack layer on both sides. An embodiment of the present invention can also be used for temporary closure with no damage done to the underlying system.
Package accumulating device
A package accumulating device is disclosed. The device conveys bag packages to a predetermined position while performing an accumulating operation that aligns the packages such that parts of each of the packages lie on top of parts of adjacent packages in a thickness direction. The device includes first and second conveyors, and a control unit. The first conveyor performs the accumulating operation. The second conveyor conveys a group of the packages aligned by the first conveyor. The control unit performs switching between a first state where a downstream end of the first conveyor and an upstream end of the second conveyor oppose each other when the second conveyor accepts the group of the packages from the first conveyor and a second state where a position of the upstream end of the second conveyor is lower than in the first state with respect to the downstream end of the first conveyor.
Cryogenic-sealing tape and method of use
Use of a combination of a sealing tape, cap and container for sealed storage of a sample at 70 C. or below. A container receives sample for subsequent storage of the sample at 70 C. or below. A cap encloses the sample in the container for subsequent storage of the sample at 70 C. or below, a joint defined between the cap and the container. A sealing tape sealingly covers said joint between the cap and the receptacle during storage of the sample at 70 C. or below, the sealing tape comprising a strip body having a first surface and a second surface, the first surface and the second surface being made of one of a silicone and a silicone rubber, a thickness between the first surface and the second surface ranging between 0.5 mil-60.0 mil, the strip body configured for the first surface at a first end to self-adhere to the second surface at a second end by overlaying in a silicone-to-silicone bond to cover said joint.
Method of fabricating coffee pods at point of sale
A method of fabricating coffee pods at a point of sale location using a coffee pod dispensing device with shell less, expandable coffee pods. The fabrication is initiated by tactile input from a control panel that determines the parameters of the coffee pods to be fabricated and generates the operational signals for the dispensing device. Fabrication there after progresses sequentially through a series of operations that involves the loading of the coffee pods onto a pod advancing means which then takes the coffee pods through the steps of expansion, filling, sealing and delivery. To accomplish this the pods are compressible pods arranged in a linear array that allows for pleated or stacked storage in a pod loading means within the device's enclosure, as well as continuous feed capabilities.
Method of sealing a lid to a container using a removeable sealing strip
A removable sealing strip and method is provided for sealing a lid removably secured to a top portion of a container. The removable sealing strip includes a strip removably affixed to a substrate and has a first portion extending from a first end thereof, a second portion extending from the first portion, and a third portion extending between the second portion of the strip and a second end thereof. The strip is foldable along a fold line such that an inner surface of the first portion of strip binds to an to inner surface of the second portion of the strip so as to define a tab on the strip. The inner surface of the third portion of the strip is affixable to the lid and to the top portion of the container to substantially inhibits removal of the lid from the top portion of the container. The tab is configured to facilitate removal of the third portion of the strip from the lid and the top portion of the container.
PACKAGE ACCUMULATING DEVICE
A package accumulating device is disclosed. The device conveys bag packages to a predetermined position while performing an accumulating operation that aligns the packages such that parts of each of the packages lie on top of parts of adjacent packages in a thickness direction.
