Method for manufacturing biodegradable pillow tea bags containing whole leaf tea
A biodegradable whole leaf pillow tea bag is provided, along with a system and method for manufacturing biodegradable whole leaf pillow tea bags. The method for manufacturing the whole leaf pillow tea bags includes the steps of providing a biodegradable infusion substrate having two opposing edge; creating a sleeve from the biodegradable infusion substrate by infusing the two opposing edges of the substrate together and closing the sleeve at its bottom; placing whole leaf tea in the bottom of the sleeve; vertically feeding the sleeve containing the whole leaf tea into a heat sealing machine that will, at predetermined intervals create heat seals across the sleeve to create pillow bags; cutting the pillow bags from one another across the heat seal. In one example, the biodegradable infusion substrate may contain hemp and/or the whole leaf tea may be infused with CBD oil or other supplements. The same method of manufacturing may be used to create a biodegradable pillow bag containing coffee.
Flat-bottom stand-up bag, vertical form, fill, and seal system and methodology for utilizing the same
A vertical form fill and seal system supports a sheet of material having material segments and a tube sized for drawing edges of the elongated sheet of material together in an overlapping configuration to form the sheet into a substantially tube shape. The VFFS also includes a sealer that seals the edges of the material to one another and a gusseting mechanism sized for forming a gusseted tuck in each of a left panel portion of the material and a right panel portion of the material. A cutting mechanism removes a first portion and a second portion of a first segment of the material segments in order to form a first cut and a second cut in the first segment and a sealing mechanism folds and seals the first segment at the first cut and at the second cut to provide an end wall with a substantially flat, rectangular-shaped footprint.
CONVEYING APPARATUS FOR A PACKAGING MACHINE, PACKAGING MACHINE HAVING A CONVEYING APPARATUS AND A CARRIER FOR A CONVEYING APPARATUS
There is described a conveying apparatus comprising a plurality of carriers, a planar motor for selectively and independently moving the carriers, an inlet conveyor, an outlet conveyor and a control device for controlling each retaining device between a respective open configuration and a respective retaining configuration. The inlet conveyor and the outlet conveyor are configured to advance each package in a manner spaced apart from the planar motor and such that a respective interspace between the planar motor and the package allows of interposing a respective support platform of each carrier between the planar motor and the respective package.
Method and apparatus for producing pouched tobacco product
In a method and apparatus for producing a small pouch with a predetermined amount of particulate material therein, a predetermined amount of the particulate material is portioned from a bulk supply and compacted into a single discrete caplet. The caplet is then deposited into an open hollow pouch closed at one end thereof, and the open end is then closed with the caplet between the closed ends of the pouch. The caplet in the pouch is then compressed to return it to its particulate form. The particulate material may be granular or shredded tobacco.
