RuBisCO Protein Fibers
Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate oxygenase (RuBisCO) protein fibers and a method of producing them are disclosed herein. The method of producing one or more RuBisCO protein fibers including obtaining RuBisCO, for example from tobacco, combining the RuBisCO with one or more plasticizers, heating the combination of the RuBisCO and the one or more plasticizers up to about 140 degrees C., filtering the heated combination through an about 20 m filter, and passing the filtered combination through an orifice to produce one or more RuBisCO protein fibers.
RuBisCO Protein-Based Films
Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate oxygenase (RuBisCO) protein films and a method of producing RuBisCO films are disclosed herein. A method of producing one or more RuBisCO protein films includes obtaining RubBisCO, for example from tobacco, combining the RuBisCO with one or more solvents, where the one or more solvents may be about 10% w/v the RuBisCO, mixing the RuBisCO and the one or more solvents to form a slurry, heating the slurry to about 70 degrees C., cooling the slurry to at least about 45 degrees C., dispensing the slurry into one or more molds for film formation, drying the slurry in the one more molds, and removing the one or more RuBisCO protein films formed within the one or more molds.
Method of producing ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate oxygenase protein fibers
Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate oxygenase (RuBisCO) protein fibers and a method of producing them are disclosed herein. The method of producing one or more RuBisCO protein fibers including obtaining RuBisCO, tbr example from tobacco, combining the RuBisCO with one or more plasticizers, heating the combination of the RuBisCO and the one or more plasticizers up to about 140 degrees C., filtering the heated combination through an about 20 ?m filter, and passing the filtered combination through an orifice to produce one or more RuBisCO protein fibers.
Purification of tobacco-derived protein compositions
The disclosure describes methods for the purification of protein-enriched extracts to provide concentrates and isolates and methods for incorporation of such materials into products. The purification methods are adapted for removal of nicotine and may have other benefits, e.g., lightening the color of the protein-enriched extracts. The methods generally include treatment with peracetic acid or hydrogen peroxide and filtrations. A protein composition in the form of a concentrate or isolate is provided, the protein composition including RuBisCO, F2 fraction proteins, or combination thereof extracted from a plant of the Nicotiana species, wherein the protein composition is characterized by relatively low nicotine content.
HEMP SEED PRODUCTS AND METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING SAME
Methods and systems for producing improved hemp seed products, such as proteins and oils are provided.
PRODUCTION OF SOLUBLE PROTEIN PRODUCTS FROM HEMP ("H701")
A hemp protein product, which may be an isolate, produces solutions at low pH values and is useful for the fortification of soft drinks and sports drinks without precipitation of protein. The hemp protein product is obtained by extracting a hemp protein source material with an aqueous calcium salt solution to form an aqueous hemp protein solution, separating the aqueous hemp protein solution from residual hemp protein source, adjusting the pH of the aqueous hemp protein solution to a pH of about 1.5 to about 4.4 to produce an acidified hemp protein solution, which may be dried, following optional concentration and diafiltration, to provide the hemp protein product.
A METHOD OF PROVIDING FUNCTIONAL PROTEINS FROM A PLANT MATERIAL
The present invention relates to the provision of leaf protein concentrate and food grade soluble functional proteins and possibly other high value products and fibres from a green plant material. The method further provides for the possibility obtaining fermentation products as biogas and finally fertilizer. The soluble functional protein product may be used in food and/or in pharmaceutical products.
RuBisCO PROTEIN FIBERS
Rihulose-1,5-bisphosphate oxygenase (RuBisCO) protein fibers and a method of producing them are disclosed herein. The method of producing one or more RuBisCO protein fibers including obtaining RuBisCO, for example from tobacco, combining the RuBisCO with one or more plasticizers, heating the combination of the RuBisCO and the one or more plasticizers up to about 140 degrees C., filtering the heated combination through an about 20 ?m filter, and passing the filtered combination through an orifice to produce one or more RuBisCO protein fibers.
Methods of separating fat from non-soy plant materials and compositions produced therefrom
Disclosed are methods for separating non-soy plant materials to produce a fat-enriched fraction, a reduced-fat plant extract, reduced-fat plant protein compositions, a crude oil, plant gums, a degummed oil and a protein-fat sediment. Also disclosed are food products containing or prepared from the reduced-fat extracts, fat-enriched fraction, gums, oils, protein-fat sediments and reduced-fat protein compositions.
