Laminated can end stock with elevated temperature annealing
Improved aluminum can end stock (CES) is disclosed. The CES includes a laminated, amorphous polymer coating exhibiting low feathering, low blushing, and high performance in an acetic acid test. The laminated metal strip can include the laminated polymer coating on an interior-facing side and a lacquered coating on an exterior-facing side. The CES is formed by performing an annealing process on the laminated metal strip, wherein the metal strip is raised to an annealing temperature above the melting point of the polymer for a sufficient duration to render the polymer amorphous. In some cases, the polymer film laminated to the metal strip is a Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film.
Portable container and container assembly
A portable container and container assembly provides a durable, functional and simple carry-all solution for dry and wet provisions, goods and gear. Exemplary features of various embodiments include one or more of an overmolded pad on the bottom of the container, a removable handle incorporating a releasable retaining structure, a lid that seals within the container cavity and is flush with the outer periphery of the container sidewall and/or has a cellular internal reinforcing structure, a skirt extending around the sidewall that is integral with handle mounts for the handle and/or provides a connection point for external components, and a drop-in tray with a collapsible handle.
RESIN-COATED METAL SHEET FOR CAN LIDS
A resin-coated metal sheet for can lids includes a metal sheet coated with thermoplastic resin films on both surfaces and formed into a can lid. A thermoplastic resin film A based on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is heat-fused on a surface of the metal sheet serving as an exterior surface of the can lid, and a thermoplastic resin film B based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is heat-fused on a surface of the metal sheet serving as an interior surface of the can lid. A composition ratio (wt %) of PBT/PET in the thermoplastic resin film A on the exterior surface is (PBT/PET)=(40/60) to (80/20), and the thermoplastic resin film B on the interior surface includes 95 mol % or more of PET.
Concave Can End
A container can end includes a concave dome shape and may forgo a peripheral reinforcing bead around the center panel. The tab may also be curved. Tooling for forming the end and a corresponding method are provided.
Water-soluble paint and coated can
Processability of a paint film is improved and a water-soluble paint in which coloring during heating to a high temperature is minimized and which has excellent productivity and a coated can having a paint film of such a water-soluble paint are provided. A water-soluble paint including a polymer emulsion (C) and a phenolic resin (D) is provided; wherein the polymer emulsion (C) includes a shell part containing an acrylic polymer (A) having a carboxyl group and a core part containing an acrylic polymer (B) having an amide group, wherein the phenolic resin (D) includes a bifunctional phenolic resin (D2) based on a bifunctional phenol and a trifunctional phenolic resin (D3) based on a trifunctional phenol, and a mass ratio ((D2)/(D3)) between the bifunctional phenolic resin (D2) and the trifunctional phenolic resin (D3) is 95/5 to 40/60.
Beverage Container
A beverage container for holding pressurized beverages, comprising a cylindrical metal construction, wherein the container side wall includes one or more indentations or indented shapes proximate the container bottom, wherein the indentations or shapes define the shape of a second pouring aperture when ruptured.
Tapered metal cup and method of forming the same
A metal cup and method of forming the same is provided. Metal cups of the present disclosure comprise a plurality of thin, straight-walled sections and a tapered profile. A domed portion is provided in the bottom of the cup. The cup may comprise a disposable cup, a reusable cup, or a recyclable cup.
Flexible Container Coating Compositions
A coating composition comprising a high molecular weight polyester, a trimellitic anhydride-polyol adduct and a curing agent is disclosed. The compositions are useful in coating food and beverage containers, particularly 2-piece cans formed by drawing and redrawing (DRD).
Container
A container for storing a liquid or a solid may include a container body having a container side wall and a container bottom and a container lid having a pop top arm to pivot and cooperate with a weakened area to provide access to the interior of the container body. The container body may be formed from plastic and the container lid is formed from metal, and the container body may include a vertical neck. The container body may include a lip, and the bottom wall may include a center protrusion. The bottom wall may include a depression, and the bottom wall may include a radial extending depression.
Aluminum can
An aluminum can wherein, when the light reflected by the outer surface of the body portion of the aluminum can is evaluated based on the LCH method by using a multi-angle spectral colorimeter, the aluminum can features a ratio C.sub.15h/C.sub.15w of 0.6 to 1.4, the ratio C.sub.15h/C.sub.15w being that of a saturation value C.sub.15h of the light reflected at 15 degrees in the direction of height and a saturation value C.sub.15w of the light reflected at an angle 15 of degrees in the circumferential direction based on the light regularly reflected from the light that is incident at 45 degrees in the direction of height and in the circumferential direction.
