Carton blanks and cartons having a tear strip dispensing feature defined thereon are described herein. The tear strip dispensing feature allows a first portion of the carton to be removed from a second portion of the carton. The first portion of the carton includes a carrying handle allowing the first portion to function as a smaller, standalone carton. The second portion of the carton is operative to function as a dispensing tray. Both the first portion and the second portion of the carton may fit into a relatively small space, such as, for example, the space between shelves in a refrigerator.

METHOD OF OPENING A PACKING BOX

A packing box enables easy release a slit lock in which slits in an insertion piece of an openable lid engage side flaps connected to openable lid side edge portions of lid side members, even if the interior of a box body of the packing box is tightly filled with a product. The top face lid of the packing box includes a part that can be torn along a tear inducing line extending from the flap opposing edge of the top face lid to the front end edge of the top face lid. This part is held and torn along the tear inducing line by a human hand, and is raised up with respect to the top face lid to form the slit lock release gripping piece that can be used for releasing engagement created by the slit lock engaging structure, so that the engagement by the slit lock engaging structure, which is the engagement between the insertion piece and the side flap in the slit on the side in the lateral direction of the insertion piece where the slit lock release gripping piece is formed, can be easily released even if the interior of the box body of the packing box is tightly filled.

The reclosable lid comprises a first intermediate panel foldably connected to at least one of the plurality of panels and a second intermediate panel foldably connected to the first intermediate panel. The first intermediate panel is positioned in face-to-face contact with the second intermediate panel. The reclosable lid is pivotable at the hinge between a closed position preventing access to the interior of the carton and an open position allowing access to the interior of the carton.

A modified Regular Slotted Container (RSC) style carton is configured to be easily shipped in electronic commerce while allowing a consumer to use the carton as a storage container for bagged pet food. The packaging carton is a modified regular slotted container (RSC) featuring a full or partial die cut perforation design forming a lid that facilitates converting the carton into a re-usable storage carton for a bag of pet food. The perforation design allows for the consumer to separate portions of the lid from the carton along the perforations. Once the carton is opened, the die cut or partial die cut flap created along the perforations is preferably used as a lid for the pet food. The first and second flaps define a set of cavities. The system also comprises an insert configured to be disposed within the bottom box of the carton. The insert has a storage configuration where the insert is substantially flat and an assembled configuration. The insert defines at least one cavity dimensioned to house at least one container.
