SHIPPING AND DISPLAY CARTON, BLANK AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A combination shipping carton and display stand contains a number of items such as pouches, bags, containers or products to be displayed for retail sale, distribution or other purposes. The carton serves as a shipping container for transport and/or storage of the products. When the products are to be displayed for retail sale or distribution, an upper shipping portion of the carton is removed by tear strips to expose the products in a display stand. The products are arranged and maintained in an orderly fashion by a pair of wedges inside of the carton and formed by the carton material to cant the products for enhanced display to the consumer.
OPENING CONFIGURATION FOR SHRINK-WRAPPED PACKAGE
Non-crosslinked polyolefin films or doped crosslinked polyolefin films (i.e., crosslinked polyolefin films that include a tear-alignment additive) may be used to shrink-wrap packages to create a wrapped package that is protected from tampering and damage but is also easy to open with little effort required by the customer. There is no need for perforations, and the films are quiet when torn, folded, cut, etc. Tear initiating cuts may be formed in the film. A tab may be placed over the film, and when the tab is pulled it applies enough force to start a pair of straight tears. The tears may be parallel or perpendicular to each other. The tears propagate in non-crosslinked polyolefin easily in the machine direction of the film as the tab continues to be pulled. In a doped crosslinked polyolefin, the tears propagate in the machine direction or perpendicular to the machine direction of the film.

Can End and Related Method
A can end and a tab configured to couple to the can end and a related method are provided. The can end is continuous. The tab is configured to couple to the can end with a post, which couples the tab to the can end without passing through the can end.
GAS ANALYTE SPECTRUM SHARPENING AND SEPARATION WITH MULTI-DIMENSIONAL MICRO-GC FOR GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY ANALYSIS
The disclosure describes embodiments of an apparatus including a first gas chromatograph including a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a first temperature control. A controller is coupled to the first temperature control and includes logic to apply a first temperature profile to the first temperature control to heat, cool, or both heat and cool the first gas chromatograph. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.
Resealable beverage can lid
A resealable beverage can lid has a lid having a top side having a score line forming a panel, a first rivet formed in the lid and extending outwardly from the top side of the lid, a second rivet formed in the panel and extending outwardly from the top side of the lid, and a tab portion comprising a main body portion having a rear lifting portion, a first forward rupturing portion, a second forward rupturing portion, an opening formed in the body portion for forming a tongue having a first aperture, a second aperture, the tab portion connected to the first rivet through the first aperture and the second rivet through the second aperture.

CLOSURE FOR A CONTAINER, CLOSURE COMPONENTS, AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
A closure body (40) is provided for installation with a liner membrane (52) on a container (44). The closure body (40) has a peripheral portion (74) for being mounted on the container (44) around an access opening (48), and a separable portion (82) that (i) is disposed laterally inwardly of the peripheral portion (74); (ii) is initially connected to the peripheral portion (74) by at least one frangible connection (86); and (iii) can be separated from the peripheral portion (74) upon breaking of the at least one frangible connection (86). The closure body (40) has an opening member (94) that is connected with the separable portion (82) to accommodate movement of the opening member (94) relative to the separable portion (82). The opening member (94) has a grippable portion (102) and a puncture portion (106) each disposed in an initial inactive orientation relative to the separable portion (74).
TAB WITH RIVET-RECEIVING AREA, METHOD OF FORMATION, AND TOOLING THEREFOR
A method for manipulating a piece of material for use as a tab in conjunction with a container. The method includes accessing piece of relatively thin, sheet-like material and forming a hole in the piece of material. The method further includes performing a wiping operation to deform material adjacent to the hole, and performing at least one coining operation to flatten the deformed material. After the at least one coining operation the piece of material has an area of increased thickness adjacent to the hole, and after the at least one coining operation the piece of material has a generally straight inner portion at least partially defining the hole, where the generally straight portion extends at least about 20% of a height of the hole.
