The left and right wall panels are foldable inwardly to create a collapsed storage unit that is relatively flat. In another embodiment, the front and rear wall panels are foldable in a similar manner. The collapsible storage unit further comprises removable support beams, and in a disclosed embodiment, an optional removable support rod, extending between the front and rear wall panels. Wheels are affixed to the support beams such that the collapsible storage unit may be readily moved across multiple types of surfaces. A handle may be attached to or formed in a wall panel to provide easier grip and movement of the collapsible storage unit.

A respective handle can be grasped in a hand of a user. The user thus is positioned to exert an upward force upon the object, enabling the user to lift or to tilt the object.

Collapsible portable storage container

A shipping container includes an insulated base, an upper perimeter portion including one or more securing mechanisms, insulated side panels, and an insulated lid. Each of the insulated side panels is movable between a respective first position and a respective second position, wherein the shipping container is in the first configuration when all of the insulated side panels are in the first positions and collapses into the second configuration when all of the side panels are in the second positions. The insulated lid is removably attachable for selectively closing and accessing an internal storage volume. Each of the securing mechanisms is configured to removably secure the upper perimeter portion to the insulated base when the shipping container is in the second configuration. Each of the securing mechanisms is also configured to removably secure the insulated lid to the upper perimeter portion in both the first and the second configurations.

The liner, in another variation, also includes a fabric covering that may be removably attached to the edge member and which stretches to cover the outer surface of the fragile item along with the rim. The liner or portions thereof comprise a dishwasher safe material which may have a mesh structure, so the liner can be left on during washing.
