RETORT CLOSURE FOR A CONTAINER
20170305611 · 2017-10-26 · ·

A method of sealing a container includes filling a receptacle with dispensable contents, coupling a closure to the receptacle to cover an open mouth of the receptacle, sealing the open mouth with a liner; engaging a pressure source to a sealing rib on a top face of the closure; and using a pressure source to force air through the openings and an air passage formed between a skirt of the closure and a neck of the receptacle.

CLOSURE AND FINISH FOR SMALL CARBONATED BEVERAGE PACKAGING WITH ENHANCED SHELF LIFE PROPERTIES

This disclosure provides new closure and finish structures suited for small and light-weight carbonated beverage packaging that provide surprisingly improved carbonation retention and greater shelf life, while still achieving light weight. This closure and finish presented herein are particularly suited to small PET containers for carbonated beverages, for example less than or about 400 mL and provide good carbonation retention and shelf life.

CONTACT LENS PACKAGES HAVING TWISTING OR THIMBLE LEVERS AND METHODS OF HANDLING

Described herein are devices and methods for storage and application of a contact lens. The device includes an applicator cap (102) including a handle portion (106a) having a first end, a second end, and a body that extends between the first end and the second end. The body includes at least one lever surface. The device includes a container (104) having a reservoir configured to house a contact lens and packaging solution. The at least one lever surface is configured to provide at least one leverage point for movement of the applicator cap relative to the container.

METAL CAP AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

A metal cap in which a linear to be held to a cap body and separable from the cap body can be formed by a series of operations for forming the cap body and press molding the liner. The liner of the metal cap has a double-layer structure including a barrier layer on a top panel wall side and a sealing layer on the inner side of the cap body, and the barrier layer is temporarily bonded to the top panel wall with a weak adhesive at the time of molding the barrier layer and separated from the top panel wall by the natural cooling of the barrier layer after molding.

Container with twist-off closure

A container comprises a releasable metal closure formed with an end wall and a depending skirt and having an annular layer of sealing compound provided on the inside of the end wall adjacent the skirt and a container body comprising a neck with an annular sealing surface surrounding a circular opening and adapted to seal against the annular layer of sealing compound over an annular sealing interface in the closed position of the closure on the container body. The container body and the closure are formed with no mechanical means for coupling them together to form or maintain a seal therebetween and the seal is provided by a partial vacuum formed in the container during processing. The annular sealing surface of the container body is formed with a localized protrusion or recess which provides a discontinuity in the annular sealing interface, whereby relative rotation of the closure and container body from the closed position creates a venting path from the interior of the container body to the exterior so that the seal is broken and the closure is released.

Plastic container neck configured for use with a fitment

An apparatus is provided in the form of a neck for a plastic bottle or other plastic container. The neck includes an external thread with a constant major diameter that can engage with a bottle cap with an internal thread. The neck has an internal surface with an irregular shape where the internal diameter proximate to the top sealing surface is greater than the internal diameter proximate to the side wall of the plastic bottle. The internal surface of the neck engages with a fitment inserted into the neck of the plastic container to prevent movement of the fitment.

Double-wall closure
09561884 · 2017-02-07 · ·

A composite closure having a double-wall configuration facilitates convenient use by consumers, and permits in-shell formation of a sealing liner. The closure includes an outer closure cap having inner and outer annular skirt portions arranged in concentric relationship with each other. The closure includes a sealing liner formed in the closure cap at the inside surface of the top wall portion of the closure cap. A method of compression-molding the sealing liner is provided.

SCREW CAP
20250250066 · 2025-08-07 · ·

The disclosure relates to a screw cap that can be formed through thermoforming from a resin sheet, has re-sealing performance through screwing engagement, and makes it possible to achieve liquid-tightness. The screw cap has a drop-lid shape and includes: a top surface; an inner side wall extending upward from an outer peripheral edge of the top surface; and a skirt portion including a screw portion and coupled to the inner side wall through an annular portion extending outward from an upper end of the inner side wall, in which the inner side wall includes an annular protruding portion having an outer diameter greater than an inner diameter of a container mouth portion to which the screw cap is applied, and is elastically deformable in a cap radial direction.
