CLOSURE ASSEMBLY
A closure assembly comprising a two-part closure having a metal panel or disc (2) and a ring (3), and a container such as a glass jar (20). The ring (3) is substantially cylindrical with an axially upwardly extending sidewall and has a radially inwardly extending lower edge. The jar (20) terminates in a radially outwardly extending beaded rim (16) and the disc (2) has a curled circumference (8) such that this curl (8) co-operates with the beaded rim (16) of the container to provide a primary seal. In one example, in a metal ring (3), the lower edge is curled with equally spaced lugs (13) on the skirt wall. In a plastic ring, the upper rim feature may be omitted.
CONTAINER CLOSURE WITH RIBS FORMED IN SEALING COMPOUND
A closure for a container. The closure comprises an end panel, a sidewall depending from the end panel and having an inwardly directed curl, and a sealing compound extending down the inner surface of the sidewall. A plurality of ribs are formed in the sealing compound, spaced apart around the circumference of the sidewall, each rib extending down the sidewall and projecting radially inwardly.
Closure cap for closing a container
A closure cap for closing the pouring opening of a container has a cylindrical threaded part with an open rim and an inner thread which can co-operate with an outer thread of a container neck of the container, a security ring which is designed to be held on a projection formed on the container neck, a plurality of security webs which releasably connect the security ring with the open rim, and a first retaining strip having a first and a second end, the first end being securely connected to the open rim of the threaded part and the second end being securely connected to the security ring. The closure cap comprises a second retaining strip having a third and a fourth end, the third end being securely connected to the open rim of the threaded part and the fourth end being securely connected to the security ring.
Back-off preventing resealable adhesives
Adhesive compositions that replace gaskets and liners in sealing applications for packages that are detachable with hand force are described. The adhesive compositions are particularly useful in preventing leaks and spillage during storage and transport of its packaged contents. Advantageously, the adhesive composition provides packages with (1) a removal torque of from about 4 to about 20 in-lb and (2) resealable torque on subsequent openings of from about 2 to about 15 in-lb, measured in accordance to ASTM D2063.
BOTTLE CAP AND FITMENT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A cap assembly for a bottle including a cap and a fitment. The cap includes a tubular side wall extending from an upper lateral wall to an open lower end. An inner surface of the tubular side wall includes a thread. An inner surface of the upper lateral wall includes a retaining extension. The fitment includes a side wall extending from an upper lateral surface to an open lower end. The upper lateral surface of the fitment includes a central aperture having a shape that is reciprocal to a shape of the retaining extension of the cap. The fitment is selectively secured within the cap by directly engaging the central aperture of the fitment with the retaining extension of the cap. The cap and fitment of the cap assembly are secured to a bottle simultaneously. The cap is threadedly secured on the bottle, thereby securing the fitment to the bottle.
CONTAINER AND METHOD FOR CLOSING AN OPENING OF CONTAINER
A container comprising: a container body that includes a wall portion separating inside and outside and is formed of a long-fiber-reinforced silicon-carbide composite material obtained by combining monofilaments of silicon carbide with a silicon carbide matrix, the wall portion having a thickness equal to a specific dimension; and a lid configured to close an opening of the container body, formed of a material containing at least silicon carbide, and equipped with such a wall portion separating inside and outside that thickness is within a range of 1 to 3 times the specific dimension.
Cap Assembly Having Integrated Inner Liner and Shell
A cap assembly for a container that includes an outer-shell and an inner-element that is received within the outer shell. The outer shell includes a recess on the interior surface of a top portion and the recess includes a top flange section that restricts the opening. The recess receives a complementary end wall that extends from the inner-element and which has a lip that mechanically locks within the recess thereby keeping the shell and liner together. In embodiments a clutch plate is positioned between the shell and liner.
Sterilizable PVC-free closures
The present invention relates to compositions (compounds) which can be used as seal material in vessel caps under sterilization conditions. More specifically, the invention relates to such compositions that are suitable for vessel caps or vacuum caps that can be unscrewed, such as cam screw caps and in particular Press-on/Twist-off caps, and that demonstrate a reduced migration of undesirable substances.
Cap for a container having a hinge
A cap for a container comprises: a retaining ring suitable for being associated with a neck of the container; a closing element comprising a lateral wall which extends around an axis and a transversal wall which extends transversally to the axis for defining a closed end of the closing element; a hinge structure which connects the closing element to the retaining ring, so that the closing element is displaceable between an open position and a closed position. The closing element comprises a projection which projects from an outer surface of the lateral wall transversally to said axis, the projection extending around said axis by an angle of at least 180?.
CLOSURE WITH GASKET
A metal closure having multiple thread engaging lugs configured to decrease the pressure exerted by the closure lugs on the neck of a container is provided. In various embodiments, the metal closure comprises a top wall, a skirt extending downward from a peripheral edge of the top wall, a lower edge included on the skirt, and a plurality of lugs formed at the lower edge of the skirt. Pressure may be decreased by the closure having more lugs and/or larger lugs than other metal closures. The closure is provided with a gasket configured to provide enhanced sealing properties when the closure is secured to a container.
