CLOSURE WITH RETENTION RING AND HINGE
20190106246 · 2019-04-11 · ·

The present invention relates to a new closure for a container, the manufacturing precursor that is converted into the closure, and the method of closure manufacture. The closure is comprised of a cap (usually threaded), a retention ring (that keeps the closure assembly connected to the container), and a hinge and articulating band that connects the cap to the retention ring. The closure is made by three major steps in the method: (1) polymer molding the closure, (2) scoring/cutting the closure, and (3) stamping the hinge which reorients the polymer. The hinge and articulating band elements are manufactured so that the band articulates and changes shape as the closure is opened. By necessity, the cap and the retention ring must separate as the cap is lifted or unthreaded; the articulating nature of the hinge and band feature allows it to keep the cap and retention ring connected as they separate. Even after opening the container, the cap remains attached to the container for convenience and anti-littering purposes.

TAMPER EVIDENCE DEVICE FOR ROLL-ON PILFER PROOF CLOSURES

Methods and apparatus of sealing bottles with Roll-on Pilfer Proof (ROPP) closures and providing tamper evidence are provided. More specifically, the present invention relates to novel ROPP closures that may be used to seal a bottle shaped container which can subsequently receive a tamper evidence device. The bottle can have a neck portion formed without a skirt portion. Optionally, the bottle can include an annular ring. The ROPP closure generally includes a body portion. In one embodiment, the body portion has a curl. A tamper evidence device can be applied to a bottle sealed with a ROPP closure by a capping apparatus. The tamper evidence device may be visually altered when the ROPP closure is rotated in an opening direction. In one embodiment, the ROPP closure cannot be rotated while the tamper evidence device is associated with the bottle. In another embodiment, the tamper evidence device includes at least one protrusion which extends inwardly at least partially into the bottle annular ring.

The present teachings relate to a screw-cap closure, in particularly the closure shell, which consists of horizontal and vertical elements, placed on the closure shell's cylindrical sidewall inner surface. Horizontal parts include a plurality of thread segments, and both ends of the cylindrical sidewall (where cylindrical side wall ends and slopes start). Vertical elements consist of areas with increased wall thickness under both ends of the plurality of thread segments. Combination of aforementioned elements create a frame, that guarantees sufficient structural stiffness and allows to decrease the closure's wall thickness.

Apparatus and method(s) according to which a first container lid is sealingly engaged against a container body. Once so sealingly engaged, the container body is stacked onto a second container lid so that a first three-dimensional profile of the second container lid matingly receives a second three-dimensional profile of the container body, which second three-dimensional profile is located at an end portion of the container body opposite the first container lid. In one or more embodiments, the second container lid is identical to the first container lid. In one or more embodiments, the stackable containers have respective detachable and re-attachable container lids. In one or more embodiments, each container body and its corresponding detachable and re-attachable lid are both made of recyclable plastic.

A closure includes a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric annular skirt portion, a polymeric continuous plug seal and a polymeric top seal. The annular skirt portion depends from the polymeric top wall portion. The annular skirt portion includes an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container. The polymeric annular skirt portion includes an interior surface and an exterior surface. The plug seal depends from the polymeric top wall portion. The continuous plug seal is spaced from the interior surface of the polymeric annular skirt portion. The top seal includes sealing gussets integrally connected thereto. The top seal and the sealing gussets depend from the polymeric top wall portion. The top seal and sealing gussets are located between and spaced from the plug seal and the annular skirt portion.

CAP FOR CONTAINER

A cap for a container is formed so that the cap has a top plate and a circular sidewall. Two opposite sides of the circular sidewall circularly connect to each other, one periphery of the circular sidewall connecting to one surface of the top plate forming a closed end, and another periphery of the circular sidewall at an opposite side of the closed end forms an opened end. Incisions are in the circular sidewall. The incisions form a ring member located at the opened end of the cap separated from a main body of the cap by a first incision and a second incision between the opened end of the main body and the ring member.

The invention relates to a closure cap for closing the pour opening of a container, having a cylindrical threaded part, which has an open edge and an internal thread which is formed on the inside and can interact with an external screw thread of a container neck of the container, a tamper-proof ring which is designed to be held on a protrusion formed on the container neck, and a retaining strip having a first and a second end. In the unopened state, the retaining strip is arranged between the threaded part and the tamper-proof ring and along the circumference of the tamper-proof ring and extends in an arc with a first angle ranging from 30 to 50 degrees. Third predetermined breaking elements are arranged in that portion of the threaded part in which threaded part and tamper-proof ring lie directly on top of each other.

CLOSING CAP FOR CONTAINERS

A closing cap for containers with a threaded neck portion, includes a lower ring coupled to the neck of the container and an upper cap provided internally with a thread to be coupled to the outer threaded neck portion, the upper cap and the lower ring are joined to rotate together. The connection between the upper cap and the lower ring is made by two flexible extensions diametrically opposed to each other, which are formed by a thickening present in the lower ring that includes a grooved portion. The lower edge of the body of the upper cap has a step defining a recessed portion where the extensions are located. In a closed condition, the two extensions are arranged above and parallel to the body of the lower ring. In an open position, the upper end of the extensions acts as a hinge region allowing the upper cap to rotate.

Anti-counterfeit bottle cap

An anti-counterfeit bottle cap, having a body (10) and a safety ring bell (20), and a slit (30) in between; an anti-theft mechanism (40) is provided within the slit (30); the anti-theft mechanism (40) has upper rods (41), lower rods (43) and a tear ring (42) in between; upper ends of the upper rods (41) are connected to the body (10), lower ends of which are connected to the tear ring (42); upper ends of the lower rods (43) are connected with the tear ring (42), lower ends of which are connected with the safety ring belt (20).
