FERMENTED CEREAL
20220211087 · 2022-07-07 ·

The present invention relates to a cereal product comprising a fermented slurry of rice flour made from koji rice (fermented rice). The fermented rice flour provides a natural and mild sweetness and glue for binding but is not too sticky during coating. The use of the slurry allows for a reduction/removal of added (refined) sugar in the final product because the fermented cereal slurry brings natural sweetness.

Fermentation medium for growth of methanotrophic bacteria and method for producing said medium

The present invention relates to a method for providing a fermentation medium for the cultivation of at least one methanotrophic organism, or for the cultivation of a combination of organisms comprising at least one methanotrophic organism, the method comprises the step of: (i) providing a main growth solution; (ii) optionally sterilizing the main growth solution provided in step (i); (iii) providing a trace metal solution; and (iv) mixing the main growth solution (as provided in step (i) or (ii)) with the trace metal solution provided in step (iii) and providing the fermentation medium for the cultivation of at least one methanotrophic organism, or for the cultivation of a combination of organisms comprising at least one methanotrophic organism.

Protein-rich nutrient supplements and animal feed supplements derived from an anaerobic bacterial process are generated through a myriad of cell rupturing and protein fractionation/purification processes. Bacterial fermentation systems and methods of obtaining one or more protein-containing portions from a fermentation process using carbon monoxide-containing gaseous substrates increasing protein product yield from bacterial cells are provided. The invention further provides compositions of protein-rich nutrient supplements with useful applications for intake by a variety of different animals and humans.

Subterranean microalgae for production of microbial biomass, substances, and compositions

The invention pertains to a method for synthesizing a product of interest by culturing a microalgal cell obtained from a subterranean habitat for producing the product of interest. The microalgal cell obtained from a subterranean habitat can be cultured in the dark, in light, in low nutrition, or nutrient rich conditions for at least a portion of production cycle. A combination of these conditions can be used to specifically manipulate a microalgal cell culture to produce a product of interest. The product of interest can be a water-soluble carotenoid, for example, a water-soluble carotenoid produced by culturing an algae belonging to the genus Haematococcus or a capsular exopolysaccharide produced by culturing an algae belonging to the genus Parachlorella. Compositions containing the water-soluble carotenoid, for example, as sunscreen and compositions containing the exopolysaccharide, for example, as moisturizing cream are also described.
